Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

Hi Sarah,

Just saw your review and it got me all excited!! I have waiting for you and Myen to return with good news and pics of your weddings... Did you see happen to run into her while you were there?? I have a couple questions about your wedding, and I hope that I won't become a nuisance :)

Did you have to pay extra for the music to be played during your ceremony or was that included in the package?

How was the dinner service, did guests have to wait long to be served or was it pretty standard service for a large party?

I also booked Sungold as my photographers, did you book a videographer through them as well?

Thanks for your help wink.gif

Hey Ladies,

Just got back from Jamaica yesterday and I'll be compiling my review shortly. The wedding was amazing!! We had a couple of little hiccups, the biggest being that our ceremony happened to be on the only day of the week that it rained. Go figure!!!

I'll go into much more detail in my review. But in a nutshell, you ladies will not regret your decision to have your wedding at IBRHS. The resort is phenomenal.

Just to quickly answer your questions, Christina - there is no extra charge to have music played during your ceremony, just be sure to provide your own cd. However, they do have Pachelbel Canon on hand.

We had our dinner at the Gourmet restaurant and our Welcome Dinner at the Mediterranean restaurant and the service at both was outstanding. They don't book the restaurants at capacity and with our 18 party group, we had all of the servers utmost attention throughout the dinner.

And finally - thank God you're bringing your own photographer. I'll go into much more detail in my review but we had the absolute WORST experience with the resort photographer during our Welcome Dinner that any thought of hiring them as a videographer quickly went out the window!

Anyway, I'll not dwell on that too much. If anyone has a other questions, I'd be more than happy to answer!

Cheers,

Myen

Hi there,

You're not a nuisance at all! I'm happy to help.

1. As Myen mentioned, there is no charge for them to play your music at the ceremony. I provided 2 CDs to Loreto. One had our song to be played at the start of the ceremony and the other one was played at the end. I'm sure you can put both songs on a single CD as well.

2. We were very pleased with the service provided to us during the reception. I didn't find the restaurant understaffed or anything like that. We also had a rehearsal dinner (at the Gourmet restaurant) and our group of 20 was served promptly.

3. We didn't end up booking a videographer through SunGold, mostly due to budget issues. Our photographer seemed very professional and I'm hopeful that our pictures will be excellent!

If you have any more questions, fire away! I found there was little information about IRHS when I had to quickly plan our wedding so I'm happy to provide any insight that I can.

Cheers,
Sarah

I was in Jamaica for a wedding in Ocho Rios on Saturday and my fiance and I stopped by the Iberostar on Sunday to check the place out. Myen, I think I saw you there because the person who was showing us around pointed out someone across the pool who had just had their wedding on Friday, so that must have been you, LOL! I'm looking forward to your full review!

The hotel really is as pretty in person as it is in pictures. :) The part we would need to work out is how to seat all 100+ of our guests at the steakhouse restaurant. The terrace area is basically split into 2 sections, and I'd rather not split up the group. The person showing us the place said we could all fit into one of the sections but I'm not so sure...Does anyone know about how many people can fit in one terrace section?

Also, did anyone here use the beach in front of the restaurant? How did it work out?

Hiya,

Nope that wasn't me. I had my wedding on Thursday, but I did meet the beautiful Friday bride who is a fellow BDW poster / lurker! I hope she comes out of of hiding to say hello wink.gif

100+ guests is awesome, but I totally understand the challenge. The steakhouse is designed in such a way that your guests will be separated not only by the terrace but there is also seating on either end of the indoor buffet as well. However, there is a large indoor seating area and I think you can situate everyone there so that they can all be together. I wouldn't worry too much though - rest assured that they'll make it work. The wedding team is awesome about working out the logistics no matter how challenging.

I'm currently plugging away at my review. I have so much too include and I want to make sure that I don't miss anything.

Cheers,
M

We had 46 people spread out over 6 tables on one side of the terrace and there was plenty of room. I'm trying to figure out whether we could have fit twice as many tables in the space... I think there would be enough room because ours was not squishy in any way, shape or form. Besides, our tables only had either 6-8 people. Maybe they can fit 10 people per table, you never know.

I was married at the little bamboo gazebo in front of the steakhouse and I loved it! It was windy though which might be the only downside. My hair was very 'fresh', as I like to call it. Haha.

If you speaking of using the beach area for the reception, I asked Nicole if this was an option and unfortunately she said that it wasn't sad.gif
