Future or Previous brides.. what did/do you do with your bouquet after?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering to all you current or past brides from a destination wedding.. what you all did with your bouquets? If they are real flowers... did you bring them home with you or how do you plan on taking care of them after the wedding day?? Any advice or comments would be much appreciated! I am confused as to what I should do with mine once all the festivities are over!!! Thanks ladies!!!

Oh this was sooo hard for me... but I used my bouquet as an arrangement when we switched places for our HM. You can't bring live flowers home through customs. they will snag you if you try and bring them. I did the best I could in keeping them as fresh as possible for the rest of the week after the wedding... and hated to leave them.. but I took tons of pictures and look at them all the time.

My AHR is in a few weeks and I will get to have my flowers all over again... super excited about this ... once that is done... I am going to have them pressed the following days after that and put it to be framed in our bedroom.

You actually won't be able to bring them over the border. While we were standing in customs they brought in a agriculture dog that is kind of like a drug dog and just smells your bags etc. They actually made a lady open her bag and found fruit which obviously she had to throw out. I wouldn't want to take the risk.

I took mine home with me. I just put a shower cap over the flower part and put them in my carry on. Nobody ever asked me about them. I have them dried now and on display :) The thought of throwing them out made me sad so I wanted to at least try. I mean the worst they could have done was make me throw them away. So whatever.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
