DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Recommended Posts

Sarah - congrats on your 1 yr anniversary AND on going back to Dreams! That's super exciting!! I'm jealous! I can't wait for May :)

missjacks - they can do multiple weddings in a day, but I would email Rebeca & ask her if there's already another on your day. I'm guessing it's first come, first served as far as locations & times, but Rebeca will be able to advise you best.

MissJacks,

Rebeca told me that there can be up to 2 weddings per day at the location. When you reserve a day she will have you fill out a form regarding time of day (the choices she sent me were 4, 5, 6, or 7) and then in addition to choosing time of day, you pick location.

SO, hope this helps!! Everything is pretty much on first come, first serve basis!

JEN

Hi Crystal!

I am getting married at Dreams PV in May of 2011. I contacted both Rebecca who is the wedding coordinator at Dreams and an outside Wedding coordinator. They both responded and gave me information on how I could book the date. I have my date reserved already! As for booking packages/flights, I think we have to wait until at least May, but I am still trying to figure those things out! Hopefully we can help each other out......

P.s.- I am using Kristin from Dazzling Details as my wedding coordinator - after I calculated all the prices from Rebecca's list for Dreams, I realized that I didn't save that much money and decided to go with a private WC and Kristin is amazing!!! You can find a lot of information on Dazzling Details and Dreams PV here so just search through the forums....Ask me if you need anything =)

Hey ladies,

So I need some advice from anyone that has already had their wedding at Dreams. I have already booked my date at the hotel as well as through Kristin at Dazzling Details. Which I am really excited about!

I think what I am stressed out about now is the cost it will be for my guests to come. I was really hoping that it would be $2000.00 or under per person. The issue is that prices wont be coming out for a few months. Did I go about this the wrong way by booking my wedding date and hotel before knowing the costs!! Yikes! Any advice on what you ladies did? I would just hate to find out that next year it will be way too much for my guests!!!

Any help would be great!

Hi Kara,

We also booked everything before we knew the pricing for our guests as well. I would not worry too much. I would work on getting a good rate for the rooms either through a TA or through dreams directly. The airfare will not be available for a while, but in many cases your friends and family will want to shop for their own airfare using miles or various discounts.

Also, if you log onto expedia or orbitz (or any travel site) you can price out what it would be for May 2010 and kind of use that as a benchmark. Than we explained on our website that we are working with a TA to secure a group rate and we will keep you posted, but we are crossing our fingers to stays within a budget of $XXX and $X,XXX per person. It's kind of risky to say a range, but we figured if needed our guests can be prepare and start saving.

Kara,

I booked my wedding at Dreams through DD as well. They actually gave me a contact for a TA and they are supposed to be really great at getting good deals. I have not contacted them yet, but I would get their info from Kristin if she hasn't not given it to you already. I have also been playing around on Expedia.com and have found on average it is around $600 per person for at least 4 nights. I am still researching the best way to get my guests the best price possible. I 'll definitely post if I find any better deals.

Please let me know if you come across any great deals as well!!

Good luck!

Brittany

yeah contact a few TA's...they will give you a better price than Dreams directly (at least for our wedding). We used Teresa Stauring at Vacations 4 Less.

Now a word of caution :) - Dreams PV causes babies....two of my bridesmaids got pregnant during our wedding trip and 2 of Autumn's guest got preggo a week later...be prepared!

LOL Jess. Souvenir babies!

Definitely check with a TA. That's where I found the best deals. I encouraged everyone to book through my TA, but some people are just stubborn. So they used their own TA or booked through expedia/orbitz. I will say the expedia/orbitz people did not get the best deals.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
