DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Recommended Posts

Yay, how exciting for you! So what day do you leave?!

I'm sure your timeline if perfect, I wouldn't worry about it too much. When you meet with Fatima and also your photographers (or you could send them an email now)  just go over the timeline and make any changes if necessary.

We were more concerned because we wanted to attend the cocktail hour and pictures are very important to us so we did not want to be rushed and miss any good photo ops. I did ask Christheell (Adventure Photography) how long it would take for: bride getting ready pics, groom getting ready, bride/groom pics after ceremony, family, group and bridal party and this is what she said:
Bride getting ready: 30-40min

Groom getting ready: 20 min

Bride/Groom: 35-45 min

Family: 15-25 min

Bridal Party: 15-25 min

Group: 15-25 min

All of these of course depend on certain circumstances like how many people you have in your family, bridal party and group, if you are wanting specific pictures, if people aren't paying attention etc then it could all add time onto your photography (and God forbid your officiant is late like what happened to Dreams2011- hopefully they had a very valid reason for this or I would have been irate). Anyways, your photographer should be able to give you a better idea of timeline if you are worried.

Hope you're not stressing about anything else and are enjoying your last few days of planning! Have fun and we want to hear all about it when you get home! and don't forget to do a planning thread :)

Totally random question-

I don't know what to do with the escort cards situation. Ideally I'd love a big frame and just have each person's name with the table they are seated at next to their names, but I can't see myself hauling a large frame to Mexico....

I've considered the individual escort cards with holders but with such a small amount of people (35) that seems silly. However, I have 2 entree choices, so I know some order needs to be involved...

Anyway, any suggestions as to what you are doing/what you did?? It would be much appreciated!!

I don't know how far in advance you are going prior to the wedding but if you don't want to lug big frames from home you can check the Municiple Market in town they have tons of vendors and am sure you will find something you like that way everyone can take home something from Puerto Vallarta.

Here is a pic of what we did for seating arrangements place holders. We got some cheap luggage tags and put each person's name on them with the menu number (1 or 2). Then there are a little keep sake as well if the person so chooses. We gave the wedding coordinator a detailed layout of the reception with each person's name on it so they knew were to put each luggage tag name tag.

(the other items in the pic is our cake topper and palm tree favour boxes filled with candies for each place setting)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
