lol, its funny you should mention that because we initially were going to do a winter wedding at Lake Louise, but it was going to cost at least 30k just for the wedding day itself with all the things that we wanted. So we figured we'd rather spend the money and have a whole week with our family instead of just a one day event. The mountains really are incredible and its kind of a shame that pictures (at least my amature ones) can't fully capture the magic up there. sad.gif

Oooh, glad I came across this post! I might just go do the hike this weekend as the weather is supposed to be gorgeous. How long did it take you to get up there? Just wondering if it is better to go early in the morning or see if I can get away with starting at noon.

That's exactly what i was going to say - the BC coast (and the whole Pacific Northwest for that matter) is gorgeous, but it was so much cheaper to have a DW - AND you get a vacation!

But seriously - if you have never seen a glacial lake, ladies (and gents) - put it on your list of things to do before you die, because it is a sight like no other. I can't wait to go here and do this hike. The ones i have seen have been on golf courses in Whistler, and i bet they can't even begin to compare!!

Thanks again Ana for posting these shots!

Um it took us about 3 hours to get up, and about 2 hrs to come down. Its 18km, but if you're in good shape you can get up there quicker. We took 3 hours and we were with my FI's uncle who is not in shape at all, so we had to stop alot. Also we stopped a ton after we go to the lookout, and then we started hitting the lakes, so we kept stopping to take pics etc. The climb is pretty easy though, definitely not too steep. I rolled my ankle a few times but that's because I'm a dumbass. hehe! We started at about 10am and got back down around 4pm. We took food and water up with us though and spend about 2 hours at the final lake up there. Bring seeds with you because the birds and chipmuncks love it! monkey.gif Let me know how it goes!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
