Chocolate Brides: Hair Question

Recommended Posts

Hi Mizzrojo!

Thank you so much!

The hair dresser who did my weave actually just left my edges out all around and my good friend that (that is also my regular hair dresser did the styling. I cannot speak more highly of demuretresses hair!

braids take toooooooo long to put in and to put out. Getting weave is easier to maintain and if your hair gets wet no worries. Just make sure you get indian or malaysian hair. Here is a website I got my hair for my wedding. Watch out for beauty supply hair stories because some indian do have synthic hair in them and it wont last as long.

This hair is the BOMB i do not buy at stores any more. I have been using them for 2 years now! Best money spent.

Question ladies!  Are any of you planning to pay for your bridesmaids to get their "weave" done or just the hairstyling at the resort?  I was planning on just paying to get their hairstyled and make-up done, which is customary.  I was not planning on paying for them to get their "weave" done!  It was hinted by one of my bridesmaids! lol

Even if my girls did wear weave (I'm the only one on that train, lol), I wouldn't pay for it to get done. Unless you know someone who does it real cheap and you don't have 19 bridesmaids, then I guess it could be a go. Makeup and a hairstyle is it. You don't want to overextend yourself. I think the whole point of a DW is to get away from those miscellaneous costs that can come with a local wedding. If I were you, I'd make it very clear what you're paying for. I think because some destination brides (not saying you specifically) can feel a bit guilty that guests have to pay so much to be at your wedding, that we can get a little carried away in terms of what we pay for. Don't go overboard. Do what you can afford.

Thanks so much guys!  I let them know that we would be covering hairstyling and make-up and hinted that if they wanted anything additional they were responsible for that.  Sounds like everyone is on board. Phew!! Now I just need to get my hair in order! lol

Hey Ladies,

I have finalized the look I'm going for and wanted your opinion.  I'm leaning towards the long curls look, but am worried about the humidity and wondering if my curls would fall.  I'm thinking it would be best to have my hair up like in the images below.  The J-Hud image is the make-up look that I am going for. What do you guys think?  Also, hope this helps bring inspiration to some of you still pondering.

What style of dress are you wearing? It's hard to tell since we don't know what you look like, any makeup trials, etc.

    • I think I fhttp://www.cigarjamaica.com/ound what you're looking for:
    • My parents divorced quite recently, just few years ago after being rather unhappily married for 26 years. My mom caught him cheating. I got engaged a few months ago and a month later with little notice my father married the woman who he was with when my mom caught him. I live in a different country so only met her and her family a few times, they were very nice to me, my father is very happy. I am polite / neutral with her. On the contrary my mom is not doing great at all, she is still in a complete breakdown and a month after engagement she made a scene that she does not want my father at my wedding and hang up on me. When she found out i speak to his new partner she refused to talk to me ever again. It’s been a couple of month now, i tried to reach out but she blocked me. My mom is not really a very reasonable type, i try to take care of her and cheer her up but I cant just sit and talk to her peacefully, it is always a drama when it comes to my father. My grandparents are on her side. I mentioned to my father that i will not be inviting his wife as i don’t feel comfortable making the whole situation much worse and also because i really dont know her well to which he said that he may not be coming then. What do I do about it? It looks like it maybe the case that neither of my parents will come or if my father comes with his wife i may never be able to fix the relationship with my mother....
    • I'm so excited to finally, after 9 years, getting married again!  He's so amazing and we want to have an amazing wedding in Jamaica next year.  Allow me to introduce myself:  I am Katherine,  his grandchildren will call me KitKat! who is marrying a minister that truly leaves me speechless at times the way he loves and cares for me.  Professionally, I am a destination wedding planner/travel agent/award-winning floral designer, so this wedding will be my ENCORE.  Last night, we started out with 50 guests, relatively the larger size of most destination weddings.  Then our guest list grew to 100.  Right! My team right now, does have a contact in Jamaica, that I'm already working with. We are working on the budget, constantly.  The plan is to have all of the details together before Thanksgiving holiday, so that family and friends can prepare to start booking.
