Tifanny- You must be getting so excited! I can't wait to hear how it goes. It seems you will be the first of our little group going down there so we want a full report:-)

I can't wait to see pictures!

Are you having the resort do the flowers?

Good luck with your last minute planning!

Hi ladies,

My DW is on 4/30/11 and I just got an email from Jacy that she won't be coordinating my wedding anymore b/c she's 5 months pregnant!  Someone named Lindsay Sherman is taking over and Jacy has forwarded my file to her.  I understand the reasoning, but I'm still a little freaked out!

I had emailed pictures of other gazebos fand flower or decor inspiration (I did not like how the fabric was wound up so tight in some other pictures) and they said they can do similar decor for their gazebo.

Hi Nairay-

Lindsay is the online concierge. She does their facebook inquiries. I am friends with her on facebook and she has been really helpful although I am not sure how much experience she will have as a wedding coordinator. I would bring all your emails!! Which package are you going with? Good luck with your final planning and we look forward to hearing a rave review!

That is awsome your borther is a chef. I think my father inlaw likes to think he is one as well :)  I love your sides. They sound deliscious. We have about 250 people coming to our AHW. My FH and I both have large families. My mother has 14 siblings and my FH parents both come from big families so the majority of the 250 is family :) Most of our close friends will be joining us in Mexico and our AHW is more for family.

I hope your diet went well?! I feel your pain about abs.  I've just been eating healthy and of course working out 6 times a week. I have about 10 more lbs to go!

Oh, my wedding dress finally came in. I went in for my first fitting and it was a little big, but i still LoVe it!

For our pig roast we are doing about a 60 to 70 lb. pig. My brother is a chef and he had one at his wedding and everyone loved it!

We are thinking of having mini tortillas, a black bean and roasted corn salad, a cole slaw that can go on the tacos or as a side, and pico de gallo.

For an appetizer we are thinking spicy prawns and something else that we havent decided on yet!:-) and of course chips and salsa.

We will have beer and lots of red wine and a little bit of white. My FH thinks we need to have about a bottle of wine a person so we dont run out!! The Invitation is from 5-8 but will probably go later than that for some...

We sent out informal evites and we have 50 confirmed so far. With the possibilty of 80ppl! We are praying for nice weather because it will  be in my Mothers back yard and house but hopefully it can mainly be in the backyard! which is beautiful.

that is great you have lost 15 lbs that must feel good!! I have been working out like crazy this past month and can definitely see a difference in my legs  and my arms... but my abs aren't budging at all!! I still have 7 weeks so we are being crazy healthy!!

My Fiance is doing a cleanse and I am doing high protein no sugar carbs or alcohol for 3 weeks!! hopefully I won't get too crabby!

Btw I think your menu sounds great!! How many people?

Ahhhh, I got sad for you while I read your post but I'm glad it had a happy ending and Yay for you NOT flipping out. I don't know if I could have contained myself :) Love love the invitations. I think the colors are amazing.

My wedding dress came in yesterday and I am happy to say my story is not as dramatic as yours :) It is a little big but still pretty amazing. Keep me posted. We both will be departing for Mexico in no time!!!!

Well, here's an update on the dress... I went for my first fitting on Saturday, only to find that they had accidentally ordered the wrong dress. Seriously. It was all zipped up in the garment bag, and one of the assistants had left me alone with it while she finished up her other appointment. So I unzip the bag (cue the fanfare), and notice that the color was not quite right... then that the fabric felt a little scratchier than I remembered... then I flipped the dress around, and it was totally the wrong dress (cue the sad trombone).

I have to commend the dress shop though. It was an honest error, and they handled it so incredibly well. To pat myself on the back a little, I also handled it well. As long as I had my dress, in the correct size, and had it altered in time for the wedding without having to pay anything extra, I wasn't going to worry. They were so embarrassed that something like this happened, and I really can't blame them.

Fast forward to Monday morning. The owner of the shop called me at 9am. It turns out that the only dress they had left in the warehouse just happened to be in the color and size that I had wanted! So, at least the story has a happy ending (hopefully!). I have my new first fitting scheduled for April 16th, so I'll let you know how it goes!

As for the invitations, this is what they look like! http://www.minted.com/customizer/sku/MIN-J91-INV

They were absolutely perfect. I was able to find some great textured paper in complementary blue-greens to line our envelopes, and sprayed with a coconut-scented spray. I also ordered custom postage from Zazzle that looked like this: http://www.zazzle.com/beach_rsvp_wedding_small_postage-172451310809429944.

Thanks Tracy!  We are going with the Dreams of Love package and substituting video services since I am using an outside photographer. Lindsay has been pretty prompt with email replies so far.  We are finalizing the menu, figuring out songs and putting together my OOT bags, among other things.  (Working hard to get to 150 posts so I can download templates for hangover kits!)

I'm hoping for El Patio for the reception, but if not, probably the banquet room (and will have to order table runners or other linens once we find out) since it's air conditioned.  April came up so fast!

Jessica, I'm glad your wedding dress fiasco turned out well, that must have been very stressful, those days between Saturday and Monday!

AsiaJane, I saw your post of your wedding dress on another thread, again you look great!

I've been working with Sandra the whole time and she is still the one in contact with me, so I guess Jacy being preggers won't hinder anything we've talked about.

As far as flowers go, she sent me a PDF of different ones and I didn't like any so I told her. She then sent me a completely different one that had EXACTLY what I was looking for and I asked for royal blue ribbon, which I shall receive. The bout. is in there too but I asked her to just make mine match. That's the only flowers we are doing. I want to keep it simple and my girls are carrying lime green parasols instead of flowers.

Gazebo I don't really know. I chose to do the package that is included but I want to be on the beach under the sun. We are getting married at 5 so I'm not worried about squinting.

Hired an outside photographer who has been SO very quick to answer questions and address any concerns. He will get pics on a cd to me before we leave to come home. I want to print pictures for our AHR, so he was the best bet.

I heard back from Lindsay that El Patio is available for my date (yes!)  From what I've read, not much is needed in terms of decor if the reception is held there, right? (i.e. table linens/overlays/runners, chair sashes).  I'm still getting sashes for the ceremony, but when I visited DPA last year, there was a wedding going on.  I believe the reception was being held at El Patio, and maybe they had table runners, from what I remember...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
