My aunt owns a salon and she always uses a ceramic on me and her clients. I can't put my finger on the brand she uses but it works wonders. Ones that I know off hand are CHI and FHI.

I have had a chi and it works good but I bought this one from Sallys Jilbere de Paris - Nano Silver Tools - Nano Ceramic Ionic Flat Iron I love it! My Mom and sister prefer it over the Chi as well. I live in Texas where the humidty is sooo horrible (the real reason for big texas hair) So, I need something with power. When I was in Cali I didn't even need to straighten my hair just blow dry it straight and it was all good!

You definitely need Ceramic, and I use CHI. Ceramic straighteners are the best thing that have ever happened to me! The one posted above is ceramic plated which is still good, but if you need serious straightening, you probably want one that is pure ceramic the whole way through (usually a bit pricier, but worth it!)

I use a CHI and I love it! I have naturally straight hair, but I like to smooth my hair out after blowdrying cause I normally flip it for volume and the CHI works great! It is slim, baby blue with rhinestones so its cute too!

I have the CHI also and think it is awesome! Ceramic is the only way to go

I am all about the CHI! They are pricey, but so worth it.

Ceramic is definitely the way to go!! It doesn't 'pull' your hair and your hair actually feels soft afterwards. I don't have a CHI, but have heard good things! Mine is called 'hairtools'..
