Katrina-

I love your review. I just PM'd you.

We are going to do Belize also.

Deciding between

Victoria House Ambergris Caye (San Pedro)

Victoria House

Or going south to

Turtle Inn (Placencia)

Blancaneaux Lodge | Turtle Inn | La Lancha

If anyone who reads this has been to either one, I would love your feedback and additional information.

We are also open to other small resorts if anyone has a suggestion.

Best

Kathy

Amazing pics of your honeymoon! I'm getting married on Ambergris for a lot of the same reasons you mentioned. I love the authenticity of the island - it does have a gritty, real quality to it (in a good way). While it is more touristy than other areas of Belize, it still feels very quaint and isn't super built up. Gorgeous settings and lovely people. And the snorkeling is fantastic. Seeing your pictures made me excited to again this May for the wedding. Thanks for posting!

Kathy, I haven't stayed at either place you mentioned, but DH and I went to Belize this past summer and stayed at Belizean Shores on the north end of Ambergris Caye. If you don't mind being a 5 minute boat ride from San Pedro, the world slows down a bit and the diving/snorkelling gets even more amazing (its awesome everywhere on Ambergris, but is even more pristine away from San Pedro). If you're looking for nightlife, then San Pedro is more your speed. Either way, you'll love Belize! Its a beautiful country and the people are wonderful!

Hi Kathy,
We are also going to Belize for our honeymoon (booking it tomorrow!) I don't know that much about the resorts that you mentioned, but, I did read about them on Trip Advisor and they both sound very nice. We have decided to stay at Matatchica, which is in Ambergris Caye. I am very excited...it sounds awesome! We are booking the honeymoon package (lots of perks!) I'm not sure how many rooms there are since you are looking for a small resort. I could ask my TA about it tomorrow.

Thank you SO much for posting a honeymoon review- I've been reading reviews from different websites and the input just isn't the same as it is on the forum. Your trip looked simply amazing. We definitely want to be able to slow down after a week in PV with family. Thanks again for the post!

Congratulations!! It looks like you had a great honeymoon. Thank you for all the great info - we are looking at Belize for our honeymoon also - did you take the transfer service back to cancun for your flight home? The prices listed are one way only? Just trying to figure cost and logistics - any additional info you could give me would be great!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
