The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Great pics, Monica. GORGEOUS

Question for you- did they decorate the gazebo like that or did you have to bring the fabric to cover the whole thing? I'm so confused about how much fabric/tulle they actually have vs. what needs to be brought with you.

The pic of your flower girls toes are so cute!

Thanks everyone :)

They did have enough tulle to decorate it like that. I took a pic of what I wanted and she was able to do the tulle like that. I left the hanging fake orchids there. Who knows if they keep that stuff to re-use but it would be nice if they did.

Quote from SunBride:

"The civil ceremony is performed by a judge (usually female) who speaks Spanish and your wedding coordinator will translate. The ceremony text is always the same (see link below) but you can add your own vows, readings, sand ceremony, etc."

I was wondering if anyone could expand a little bit on how much we're aloud to alter our civil ceremony text. I have found some really beautiful passages (an introduction, a hand ceremony, vows, and a closing) that I'd like to use in addition to the standard text used by the judge at Dreams Tulum that SunBride was kind enough to post on the 1st page of this thread. I guess I'm a little confused because obviously none of the text that I'd like to add would be in spanish. Would the wedding coordinator read my text (quite lenghty) and then the judge would take over at some point and perform the standard legal text? Just askin'! I hope my question isn't too confusing!

i love monica's gazebo design, but instead of hanging orchids I bought the hanging green and blue disk shells from World Market...I'll find a pic. If anyone is getting married after jan 17 2009, i could ask Landy to keep them for that...

Oh my goodness, neen I love it! It's so beautiful! What a nice way to dress up the gazebo.

Yes, I think that's exactly how it would work. The coordinators are so flexible that I doubt they woudl have any problems with adding all those parts to it, although if it got crazy long there might be a problem only because the judge would have to leave (but I'm talking like if it was insanely long, which is unlikely). But I think intro & conclusion, hand ceremony and vows would be fine and since they won't be translated it will likely only add like 3-5 minutes to your ceremony. Hum... why didn't I think of adding an intro & conclusion? Would make it so much nicer. Then again, I honestly didn't care all that much about the ceremony text (aside from our vows).

Neen- that is GORGEOUS!

Monica- thanks for the tip on the tulle. Would be awesome if they kept the orchids. From the sounds of it- they're not so good at this part:)

Why don't you try emailing them and asking them to keep it for you? Maybe knowing that somebody is definitely planning on using it will give them the motivation to save it. Worth a try!

Too bad your wedding is still several months away though. If it was only a month or so they'd probably keep it for sure.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
