We are working with a travel agent - that's a good idea - we'll have to check with him on getting a list of arrival days/times for our guests.

Thanks!

Does anyone know if any decorations/linens are included in the standard pricing?  We're doing the Ultimate Package.  I guess I'm wanting to know if we should bring our own tulle for the arch or if we would need any additional decorations for the reception.  We don't want to have to bring a ton of extra stuff plus the costs additional set up/decorations is kinda nuts. Thoughts??

Hi! I just returned from our DT wedding! It was great! In terms of the bags, we had given them to Annabelle to deliver to all the rooms, but they weren't all delivered right when the guests arrived. most of our guests got them several hours, or even the following day, after they arrived. she had charged us $3 a bag to do it per room, plus we gave her a tip.

if you're trying to save money, then you might just want to give the bags out yourself to your guests if you're having like a welcome dinner or something. i wouldn't wait for them to contact you....it's a long trip down, they're going to be disoriented enough and it's just one more thing they have to do.....

we had half our guests arrive on thurs night, the other on fri., and we had a welcome happy hour on thurs for those guests and the welcome dinner on fri for the rest of the gang. if we hadn't had the bags delivered, we would've just handed them out at those times. i wish we had actually, because then you could have made sure they got it, and seen their faces and welcomed them personally. i don't even know if all my guests got their bags (some said they didn't)  and i got tired of asking everyone individually if they'd gotten them. and some people didn't even look that closely at them, they thought they were from the hotel!

My FI and I have just decided we want to get married at DT as its beautiful!!!  I just have a couple questions (considering therre are 431 pages, they may have been answered before, but I dont have time to go through all the pages!)

1.  Are outside photographers allowed?

2.  We want to have a ceremony in the later afternoon that will allow us to take sunset pictures.  How much before sunset should we plan our wedding??

3.  I'm a bit confused about this having to be there four days before.  So that means if we get there on a Sunday we can get married on a Thursday? or Monday we can get married on a Friday?

Thanks so much for all your help!!

Hi,  we just came back from our wedding at Dreams and did exactly what another bride had suggested.  We got everyone's arrival time from our TA and estimated when they would arrive at Dreams Tulum.  We waited for them at the reception area.  We welcomed and handed them their OOT gift bags in person.  Everyone commented that it was very thoughtful and pleasant to see us upon their arrival and it saved us $$.  This way we also made sure that everyone was able to check in without any issues and we were able to update our guest room list.

Hope this helps.

1.  Are outside photographers allowed?  Yes - but a full day pass may be required $90 pp.

2.  We want to have a ceremony in the later afternoon that will allow us to take sunset pictures.  How much before sunset should we plan our wedding??  Honestly, it really depends on the time of year you are getting married.  We just got married at Dreams Tulum and our ceremony was at 4pm and there was plenty of time to get sunset photos.  It seemed like the sunset time was about 5.15pm everyday we were there (Dec 5 - Dec 19)

3.  I'm a bit confused about this having to be there four days before.  So that means if we get there on a Sunday we can get married on a Thursday? or Monday we can get married on a Friday? I think this is only applicable along with blood tests if you are looking to have a legal ceremony, we did a symbolic one so there were really no requirements.

Thanks so much for all your help!!

Hi Ladies,

I just returned from our wedding at Dreams Tulum.  Everything was fantastic and just wanted to assure all upcoming brides that there is NOTHING to worry about!  I just wanted to thank everyone for all their help during the planning process and I will be sure to write a detailed review once I get settled and have some pictures to show.  I did learn a few $ saving tips for those who are looking to use the Wine Cellar which I will include in the review.  In the meantime, if you have any questions, I will try to answer them as best as I can.

Thanks again for all the inspiration and help!

The only decorations that are included are the white chair/table/arch cover (as stated in the guide). if you want tulle around the arch that is an extra $130 USD. To be honest we brought all of our own decorations. It was a bit of a hassle, but what the resort wants to charge you to rent theirs is far more expensive than you could find online. The decoration set up fee is much cheaper than renting table overlays for $18/table, or $4/napkin. I've attached a pic of the resort setting up our reception, the table center-pieces haven't been set up yet, but you get the idea. The extra colour does add something, but it is entirely up to you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
