We have our AHR coming up on August 13th. It is at a local park with a covered shelter and we're having it VERY casual. We have a family member catering our event with heavy appetizers and we're supplying beverages. I want to show our wedding video and the only way I can think of doing it is on a computer and just having it run continuously so everyone can see it throughout the day. Our guests will be arriving throughout the day, so there isn't a sit-down lunch/dinner. How else can we do the video? Also, we will have some games to provide some entertainment (bean bag toss, etc) and we'll also do our first dance for everyone when a majority of people are there. Any ideas on how we can decorate the park but not have it too formal? I have lanterns and centerpieces...anything else? I want it to be a fun event but yet keep it very casual - like a day at the park with family and friends...thoughts??

We are back from our wedding at DT and had our honeymoon at the Royal Hideaway. I'm so sad to be back to reality! We had a GREAT time and so did our guests! It was amazing at how wonderful of a job Dreams did! I'll be posting my review soon.

I've been reading some posts and there are quite a few that indicate that they are writing their own ceremony wording - is this true for all symbolic ceremonies? Dreams hasn't told me anything about this...HELP!!! I was hoping the judge would have set readings and we'd just add some of our own readings if we wanted.

On the wedding day, are you supposed to wear your engagement ring on your right hand? Or do you still wear it on your left?

What are you ladies doing for a Guest Book? I was thinking of doing a frame everyone can sign and then when we get our pics of the group in, we can put it in the frame - but I'm concerned with transporting the frame to and from Mexico...ideas??

DanniS - We will be there until the 15th and then we'll be going to another resort for a few days alone. It would be great if we could get together!! We are having our rehearsal/welcome dinner on the 11th and then after the wedding, we're just going to hang out for a few days!

Received some interesting news today...my sister (MOH) sent me a text message saying that she can't plan my bachelorette party - she told me about 2 months ago plans were going well and that she was going to send invites out soon - that never happened - no invites were sent, nothing planned, etc. Well - her text also indicated that my cousin's wife was going to plan the bachelorette party...I love this gal, but now I don't know what to do...the MOH hasn't helped with anything so far and I'm very pissed! I'm glad that my cousin's wife is willing to put together a bachelorette party on short notice - so do I have to get her a gift for doing this?? I don't mind but what's customary? What should I do with the MOH?? She's pissing me off lately!

Does anyone know what type of Ipod docking station the resort has? I don't have an Ipod, but have a similar MP3 player and was wondering if I could just attach an adapter to it to be compatible with my Zune.

Hello ladies! We decided to go with the sound system and Ipod dock for the ceremony - however - we don't necessarily have the Ipod - we have a Microsoft Zune. Do any of you know if the Ipod doc the resort uses has a headphone jack? I can buy an adapter for our Zune and it's basically a headphone jack to plug into the system. If anyone knows that would be helpful - or else, I'll have to borrow an Ipod from someone or figure something else out. Thanks!

Sara - when are you getting married? I chose the Dolphin Pool terrace also. I hope things work out for you. Unfortunately I'm not sure how the other pool terrace is set up in terms of lighting.

Thanks, doll! I don't know what I'd do if our stuff didn't make it thru customs!! I'll just tell my MOH and my other sister to pack light so they can take some of my things with them!

How are you ladies bringing your favors and decorations down to the resort? I want to ship a few things and I also want to pack some items in another suitcase...just curious what you think would be the best and safest way for our things to get down there. I'm definitely taking my dress with me on the plane - i'm not letting that thing out of my sight - i've heard way too many horror stories about this to take my chances. If anyone has a shipping company that is reliable, please let me know. Thanks!

Are any of you having a rehearsal and meeting with the minister/judge? I'm just wondering how they would know what we want included in our ceremony.

Hi ladies! I've been following the thread for Dreams Tulum as we are getting married May 12, 2011!! Holy cow it's coming up! I feel like I'm so behind right now! I haven't sent out our invites yet (tomorrow morning they'll go out) but our TA needs all booked guests' payments by March 8th! That isn't giving my guests a whole lot of time to decide whether or not they're coming (we did send out STDs so we know who are for sure coming, but this is mostly for those procrastinators that were waiting for the formal invites) Sheesh! FI and I had to make an emergency trip out of the country for a few weeks so while we were gone, we didn't have time to put our invites together and send them out...oh well! OOT bags are pretty much done and I have yet to get my dress altered! I'm 5' tall so they have to take 3' of dress off the bottom At least it's a simple fix, right?!? For those having a symbolic ceremony, could you PM me your program if you're doing one? I'm not sure the order of "events". That would be fantastic!!

Anyone have a program template for a symbolic ceremony? If so, please email me...I just need to know what the order of things are...completely clueless!

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone had a template they could email me of their program. We're having a symbolic ceremony and I want to get some programs printed off and I don't know what the outline or timeline should look like. On another note - I just want to vent because I feel like an idiot! I guess my fiance and I were so eager in getting contracts signed with our TA last year that we sorta spaced on it when it came time to remind guests of payments. I seriously thought that the guests could pay for their rooms after their stay - like you normally do at hotels - but they have to pay for their stay by March! Our wedding isn't until May! Just a little frustrated cuz we had to leave the country to attend to a family matter and in that time, we received our invites so they've been sitting here for a few weeks and should have been sent in the middle of January - now they won't get sent out until tomorrow and I'm requesting guests to respond by March 1st (if they intend on going) or by no later than March 20th. Agh! Sorry for the vent but thanks for reading

Would any of you brides getting married before May 12, 2011 be willing to sell me your organza/tulle that you will be bringing down to the resort? We really don't have set colors for our wedding and since it'll be down there already, it would be pretty convenient. If anyone is willing to, please let me know. Thanks!

Does anyone know if any decorations/linens are included in the standard pricing? We're doing the Ultimate Package. I guess I'm wanting to know if we should bring our own tulle for the arch or if we would need any additional decorations for the reception. We don't want to have to bring a ton of extra stuff plus the costs additional set up/decorations is kinda nuts. Thoughts??

We are working with a travel agent - that's a good idea - we'll have to check with him on getting a list of arrival days/times for our guests. Thanks!

Any of you ladies plan on having the hotel deliver the OOT gift bags to your guest's rooms? I just think the amount they charge per bag is crazy and we're trying to find ways to save some money. Some of our guests are arriving a few days prior to the wedding and we're not having the Welcome Dinner until the night before, so I'd like for them to have their bags when they arrive. Is it tacky to have them contact my FH and I when they arrive in order to deliver their bag to them? Any suggestions??

Thanks ladies for your input! We'll have to crunch the numbers and figure it out - I'm trying to convince the FH that if I were a guest at a destination wedding, I would expect to have an intimate gathering with our friends and family. Wish me luck and I'll keep you posted
