Ok dumb question (maybe), I've seen some girls pics that used the umbra Ether frame for the sand ceremony but where able to do add the sand AROUND a picture. I'm not sure how they did it. Maybe using glue? and which panel did they glue the pic? Do I sound crazy? lol

Any ideas let me know please!

Omg! I'm such a dork. Courtney help me out and just did a trial run.

Basically put some tape on the back of the pic, place it on the 2nd panel. Then pour the sand behind that panel. I removed the 3rd panel. Put some tape across the first panel to prevent any sand fallling into it and that's it!!

Thanks anyway.

Does anyone know how much sand it takes to fill this up? I want to go buy our sand but don't know how much we will need to use.

Also, since the sand fills in the side...can you fill it with it sideways up, then turn it so that it sits longways?? Or will that mess the sand up?

Thanks!

I guess it depends how many colors you're doing. I'm doing 3 colors. I bought 2 lbs bags and only used 1lb. I guess that's 3lbs total to fill it. Upright only.

We did a test run, and the sand was coming out through the back sides especially. So we decided to glue the glass panals with crazy glue. oops.gif BAD IDEA! It made weird clouds on the glass. In other words, It looked like crap. So I had to get rid of it.
Luckily, Khols opened up in Miami (Yay!)elefant.gif and I found the same picture frame I ordered from them online (for 1/2 the price) and just got a new one.
So I went to Michaels and bought a glue for glass. I also bought some thin strips used for stain glass art. It's kinda rubbery but very thin. So I glued the panals then added the thin strips to the outside panal, did a test run, and it's perfect.

Hope this helps.

I used 2 1lb jars of sand in blue and orange. That was more than enough to fill up my frame. I forgot to glue the edges for transport so i would really recommend this b/c when i unpacked some of the sand was all over in my bag. It falls between the cracks b/c remember the frame is made to hold pics not sand :)... use a little glue and you should be fine.

I plan on adding a pic later. I will assume you pull out a glass panel, glue center and glue your pic and then slip the panel back in....

I am at work right now so i can't find my sand ceremony pic...

Good luck..

For any of the Canadian girls out there I found a website for a place in Saskatchewan. I ordered mine and the showed up in about a week. The wesite is Urbane-Canada's Online Umbra Retailer They have the three colors but you just have to search around for them . At first all I could find was the metal one and we wanted the dark wood. I ordered two of them because me and FH want to do one and then we want to do one with our daughter. I paided around $60 for both, including shipping.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
