This is such a cute chit chat...Well I live in Merrick, NY a town in Long Island...Not much happens here but a lot of people grew up here. Right now Lindsey Lohan's house is down the block from me they are shooting a reality show for E! I hate to admit it but I never miss an episode I actually DVR it and play it in slow motion looking for my house We are also famous for the infamous Amy Fisher who dated Joey Butafucco and shot his wife (not in Merrick) in the 90's. Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield met in the Merrick HS and started the best invention ever Ben & Jerry's. And last but not least Michael Kors grew up here as well actually my nutritionist and future father in law were great friends with him in HS. So that is a little about Merrick's history

I live in Gilbert, AZ. Just moved here not too long ago, and here's what I know now:
1. It's hot
2. our neighboor across the side street was initially really friendly... until she found out we didn't have kids. now she pretends she can't see me
3. It's hot
4. our other neighbor, is probably the nicest guy ever. we've decided he's ex military from the proper way his flag hangs, and is uplit. he's SOO nice
5. It's hot
6. Gilbert has a very high population of Mormons
7. It's one of the fastest growing cities
8. it's hot
9. our neighbor behind us has a two story house, and i'm always worried that they will be looking out the window at the exact moment my tubetop swim suit falls down

I 'wiki'ed my city and there was nothing of interest - at all - about it. I live in Maryland, born and raised. I guess, the one thing of interest about Maryland is Baltimore's "HONfest".

 

But, as for actual neighbors... well, this morning we were awoken by a cop banging on our condo door seeking information about one of our neighbors. 5 hours later, the cop was still in the parking lot and stopped us as we were leaving for a baseball game to ask us if he and his BATTERING RAM team can buzz our unit so they can come into the building at 5AM tomorrow to break down the neighbors door.

 

yeah... guess who's not going to get much sleep tonight.

I live in a neighbourhood in Ottawa that I am relatively new to, despite living in the city my entire life.

 

In March we bought our home and moved to Nepean (formerly a community outside of the City of Ottawa, which ammalgamated a few years ago). We are a 15 minute drive from downtown, 10 minutes from the Canal (longest skating rink in the world), surrounded by restaurants, stores and nature.

 

My street faces a ravine and a waterfall which I think is kind of neat to have right in the heart of the city. We find our neigbourhood a bit more suburban than we're both used to, alot of dog walkers and baby carriages, but we love our home and will be perfectly suited when we start our family in a few years.

 

We didn't want new construction because most new homes are on the outskirts of the city and we really wanted to stay in town. Plus the lots tend to be alot smaller with little or no yard. We have a 25 year old home, that offers a large private backyard and tons of space inside.

 

Our neighbors all seem pretty nice, they even have little block parties every few weeks. The thing is, the average age is about 20-40 years older than us, so we are waiting for younger couples to move in.

We live in Port Angeles, which is about 2.5 hours west of Seattle. We just made the big move in December or 06' after running in the rat race in the city for many years......It is absolutely gorgeous here, & we LOVE it! They say we live "where the mountains meet the sea"

We love our little neighborhood too....It's on a dead end street and we have Deers and their new spring babies coming over to our yard almost daily for a lovely salad bar of our lilac buds and flowers.
