Elizabeth Medina shot a wedding there in May, yet she can't tell me how that happened!? Maybe she was booked before the policy?

Are you clear on it? The photographer CAN be from Mexico but not the Cancun area? Hmmm...photography is one of my main priorities and this policy might be the one reason I choose NOT to book Azul Sensatori or Azul Beach (I have a $200 deposit holding a date). Flying a photographer (a GOOD one) seems expensive. And then they tack on a $500 outside vendor fee?!

We have Elizabeth Medina booked for our May 2011 wedding. If you are seriously interested in her, PM. We received an option that beats the $500 / 3 day requirement and once we priced that out, it was cheaper to hire her than to fly the other US photogs that we loved in to Mexico.

I don't have my actual flowers yet, but should be receiving final pics soon.  I will share with you when I do, so you can see if you'd be interested in her.  She is modagefloral on etsy.  A lot of her work has feathers, but my bouquet does not.  She has sent me pics of the actual flowers being used and they look like they're good quality, and she has great reviews.  I'm hoping they turn out beautiful!!

They have a website.  Let me know if you want me to look it up for you.  I know he does good work, because I had looked into him, but the resort charges that pesky vendor fee.  So, I think I am going to go with the resorts make up.  They seem to do a good job.  :o

Hello,

Is anyone else having a hard time getting the hotel to decorate for the reception?  The lady keeps telling us we should bring our own, and I keep telling her I don't want to but she isnt providing me with any information on buying them from the hotel.

Thanks

We were actually going to use Elizabeth Medina also but found it more cost effective (she will photograph 3 days since she is staying at the resort).  Azul did approve us brining Elizabeth if we were going to use her and this was a couple of months ago, as long as you ask permission and pay the 500 dollars you can use almost anyone (Del Sol is not allowed on Karisma property).  I would suggest looking into photographers in your area or other areas and ask what they would be willing to do it for, I was shocked at how many would do a destination wedding and how the cost could be lower than going local.  Our photographer is doing it for the cost of her trip plus a lower fee and that includes all the photos, some specialty photos on canvas and a coffee table style book and she is bringing her assistant - so it is sometime worth looking into.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
