Unlike others, I do not LOVE my job. But I don't hate it either.
They suck and it never get's easier to get up early! What type of lawyer are you?

I definitely don't love my job either, my boss is... unique. I do love sales, my ideal is clothing design, I take sewing classes and a hugely fashion obsessed girl! I have a crazy eye for sizing up men and picking out what looks good on them, it's odd actually.

Hopefully, we will do an AHR later on that summer (2012)..we have an AMAZING backyard and could do an open house/all day event so it's not too overwhelming...and basically just have to get a big tent and rent some table and chairs....but...that can all be decied later...
I think that's a wonderful idea, I'd even tell people that you hope to have an AHR one day, that way it shows that you want to include everyone but there's no commitment or definite.

Wow, how do you like that job? Is it scary? I don't know why I think that but it sounds like it could be.

My job use to be salary plus commission but Cali laws got enforced and now I'm hourly plus commission to to my income bracket, DH is salary plus commission because he makes more than me. So he just get's the same when traveling, mine would be by the hour.

We are thinking of maybe going to Cozumel for the second week...but still totally up in the air....
We are arriving Wednesday before the wedding..A couple of people are arriving Wednesday, but most people are arriving Thursday. We will have events Thursday and Friday night and the wedding on Sunday. We are staying at Le Blanc til Wednesday. We thought about switching resorts, but it was my favorite resort in the Riviera Maya/Cancun area, so I thought, why switch?!? Then, we are going to VEGAS for our legal wedding.

I do not think it is too early. HOWEVER, I would stay in CONSTANT contact with your guests that express interest, whether it's a "thanks for rsvping" card or a "before you leave packet," etc...That way people will not back out. I sent my save the dates out WAAAAY late. At 6 months. But we had sent an email out right when we got engaged...then 2 months later, I asked my bridesmaids to be in the wedding and told them the logistics. Then, we talked the resort up for a few months. Then sent out the save the dates. So, basically everyone knew for a year, but we kept the communication constant!

Thursday were our bachelor/bachelorette parties in Cancun, Friday we had rehersal dinner and ceremony rehersal (once again in the dark which was hilarious) and then a Mojito welcome party with everyone. Saturday was the wedding, Sunday most people left and the last left on Tuesday which we then moved to another resort in Cancun until Friday.

Moving to another resort for 4 days was HEAVEN and such a great decision. It was the resort I originally wanted to have my wedding at and it was definitely more pricey than AS. The food at this place was just unbelievable and it was so gorgeous. We just slept, relaxed and did a zipline/cenote excursion one day.

It was the perfect trip, I wouldn't change it for the world. Then we had Saturday & Sunday to relax after going back to work on Monday.
I didn't know you had considered having your wedding at Le Blanc?!?!?!?!? We are seriously separated at birth I think. wink.gif

Lindz - No kidding right? Le Blanc was totally my #1 choice, my guests couldn't afford it (when I was looking at prices) though so I chose cheaper. The prices really aren't too different now though. Needless to say, everyone was jealous I went to LeBlanc after! haha!

FI got his suit and 2 of the 4 groomsmen have as well.

Almost everyone is booked...I think we are at 56 so just 10 or so to go!

We got the groomsmen's ties today at Santey Alley in downtown LA for $6 each and they are perfect match for the BM gowns! Both in metallic sage. Yay!

I also got my dad's suit today. In fact 3 piece suit, shirt, tie, belt and socks for $100. A real steal! If any of you ladies are in SoCal Santey Alley is where it's at.

As some of you might already know, besides my full time jobs as bride to be and mommy to a beautiful almost 1 year old baby boy (whimper...i can't believe he's going to be 1!) I am a publicist by profession. One of my clients, ShoeDazzle.com (an online styling service which suggests shoes, handbags and accessories for you based on your fashion profile. you select one per month and it's shipped to you for $39.95 per month. it's a lot of fun) well anyway, i got my monthly selection and, gasp, I think i might be wearing my $40 shoes for the wedding. It's hilarious but hey, again, saving money and they give me like 4.5 inches and so far seem pretty comfortable. here's hoping. i've only walked around my apt in them so might have to give them a longer trial run. :)

Also, I am getting a custom monogram made from a gal on etsy. She sent me 9 options today! 9! And they are al pretty great so I just need to figure out which one we like and go from there. I think I might ask for more than one in hi-res so I can use them for different things. If I can figure out how to post them I will. I would love all of your feedback.

And those of you who told me about Carolina...you are right. She's pretty amazing.

So if I can get my pre-wedding brochures done this weekend, I will feel really accomplished.

Sorry for my rant. I just worked out and now I can cross that all of my list. Feels good. I hope this can continue. :)
cheer2.gif Very good, sounds like you're on a roll! I'm gonna check out ShoeDazzle too. I've heard of it but never seen it.

Tho' I'm generally quite comfortable in heels I am one of those people who always manages to get my heel caught in boardwalks etc. and am curious if I should avoid the small kitten heel altogether. (Already having visions of tripping down the aisle - not a comforting mental image).
I'm not getting married on the beach, but I asked for just the plain white runner so they're going to remove the wooden one altogether. I'm wearing stilettos so I didn't need to add falling down the aisle nighmares to my list of nightmares. smile41.gif

I needed to get away and not do any wedding planning because I was beginning to get stressed out with the family drama around me. I cannot believe I am posting this on a public forum, but I am having issues with my Mother and she has been making this wedding planning a nightmare as opposed to something fun. I'm her firstborn and only daughter and I guess my expectations of her involvement were/are a little higher than her perception. Anyway, I'm channeling and processing it all and working on beginning to accept that although she has the funds, she just might not be at or involved in my wedding. It hurts, but it is what it is. I just never invisioned my wedding day without my Mom being front row and center stage. Lots of lessons to be learned in life.

Moving past the drama and resisting the urge to emotionally dump here....and back on to weddings!!! We got our STD's back and out in the mail. I will be honest and say that I was on the fence about them and almost hesitated to send them out. We found an awesome seller on Etsy and while I loved all of her other work and samples, I don't think my idea translated over well via email. I wanted something very natural and organic. I love raffia and we are using Burnt Orange as our main color with sand brown and white as accents. After seeing our STD's, I am starting to think we might need another bright accent color. I am a tomboy and not a big fan of pink, so that color is out, although I have seen other weddings and I think those two colors are beautiful together. Any suggestions of an accent color to go with burnt orange that don't give off a "fall wedding" feel are greatly appreciated. Because I know how much we all love photos, my STD's that I sent out are below. We placed thins self-adhesive magnets on the rear so that people could place them on their fridge if they chose to.

Any ideas for a pretty accent colorhuh.gif??
I am soooo sorry to hear about your mom, but I love your attitude! Ok, i regards to the STD's. I know you said you are not a girly girl, BUT a dark fuchsia would look gorgeous with burnt orange. Just hints of it. Look at Kittenheart's accent color in her flowers. That would be gorgeous. Also, as crazy as it sounds, I think lime green would be a fun "pop." And lastly, and maybe my favorite...turquoise (like a deep turquoise)!!! That would look amazing!!! Any jewel tone will look pretty with burnt orange.

I'm going to apply to the University of Maryland, Catholic University and University of Baltimore. U of M is my first choice especially because I can get in-state tuition prices.

smile120.gif Sorry to be blunt but you're wrong! Especially in February when you're going, it will be pretty dead out there. D and I went March 2008 and stayed in Cancun @ The Royal and we were worried as well, that freakin' hotel was EMPTY and there weren't really that many people out in the city either. Spring break is end of March/April I believe.
