Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

@@CurlyKristen - all common (and reasonable) questions! the $300 limit is the max dollar amount of gifts such as your wedding favors and OOT bags. note that's $300 per person - so you & your fiancé could take $600 total. add in a couple of friends who can take $300 each, and your total goes way up.

decor counts as personal property like your clothes and other belongings, unless you're planning to leave it behind. I would make sure you have your receipts with you for decor & gifts (separated), on the unlikely chance that Mexican custom's agents want to inspect your items further. It's rare, but it does happen. and no need to have it translated into Spanish. Most of those working in the airport speak English.

enjoy the holidays!

I am so sorry to keep asking so many questions but here's another one :) I have ordered the vases, candle holders, and a ton of other wedding supplies but now how do I get them to Mexico? I read somewhere that we can only take $300 worth of wedding supplies with us on the flight, is that true? And I also read that you have to have a note in spanish explaining that everything is for your wedding? Please advise.

Thanks! And Merry Christmas!

@CurlyKristen- here's a link to a page regarding customs in Mexico. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/4239-customs-in-mexico-declaring-wedding-stuff/page-13

You should also check how much luggage you are entitled to on your flight and if there is a discount to pay for extra luggage ahead of time (if you need an extra bag...or two).

I was one of the few who were selected when going through Mexico customs. They made my fiancé and the rest if my family keep going. They opened my decorations bags and I told them that I was getting married. I showed them my dress that was in a bag and explained it was all table decorations and they let us move on. I lucked out and didn't have to show receipts or anything.

I would really love to have this look at the reception at the zavas plaza. Does anyone have any idea how much tulle I would need?? Thanks!

Where are you wanting to use tool at plaza Zavas? Coming out from the centre of the roof and then draping down each pillar? If so- you can get all the dimensions of the gazebo on the "official Sensatori" thread.... they rebuilt it this year but the dimensions did not change.

Hi everyone--I'm trying to figure out what length globe (or patio) lights we need to hang between the poles at Zavas Plaza and the surrounding trees (one pole to one tree).  Apologies if this info is already posted elsewhere, but I scoured both Sensatori threads and can't find anything about it (just how long lights need to be to wrap trees).

Andrea, our Miami WC (Miami) told me that each string of globe lights needs to be 9 meters long (or about 30 ft), but almost all of the globe lights that I can find come in 25 foot increments, including the ones that Katy rents (which would make things easier).  Does anyone know the distance between the poles and trees, or anything related?  Did anyone hang globe lights themselves (and what length)?  Thank you in advance for your help!

On a side note, I'm getting married 1/18/15 at Sensatori--are there any other brides on here getting married the same week/weekend?  Send me a message if so (especially if you'd be interested in sharing anything)!

Thank you all again!

Best,

Farrah

I do not know what length of lights you need to go from the poles to the trees. By the pictures it looks like varying lengths. I'm sure if you got too long of lights you could just wrap them around the trees a few times.

I know someone mentioned you need 6x25 ft to wrap around the poles, I couldn't find 25ft lights and ended up getting 18 ft, does anyone know if that will be too short?

I've heard really great things about Azul Sensatori and the Azul resorts in general. I saw their wedding packages and thought they were great, too - great prices, good food, nice decor.

There are some more Azul brides here:

@@ShaeShae36 it's against the boards policy to promote groups on facebook- but I agree it's a fabulous resort with lots of great options for brides!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
