Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

So for those of you that have bought linen suits, pants, and shirts, where did you get them from? I want my FI to wear a linen suit and GM to wear linen shirts and pants.

Also has anyone used the photographers from the resort. My aunt has a professional camera and will be taking pics but wanted a backup also. Any suggestions?

We are in the process of blocking 20 rooms, how much do you normally save doing that?

we havent gotten a room block either.  in fact, i feel like it is one more thing for me to stress over, so i recommended a travel agent and everyone is booking on their own.  that way i dont have any worries.

how much money did it really save everyone?? most people coming to my wedding for may 13 are staying for 4 or 5 nights and are paying 1200 for flight, hotel, ground transportation.  thats from all over the US and canada.  indiana, washington DC, oklahoma, portland, ottawa, vancouver, etc.  i jokingly tell them they dont have to bring another dollar b/c its ALL INCLUSIVE!!!  :)  are your guests paying way less b/c you blocked rooms??

Forgive my ignorance!  I want to be sure that we're going about things the best way.  My concerns are getting fair prices but also having enough rooms for guests.  We're at Azul Beach in July, and were going to get serious about booking in Jan and Feb.

We went through a travel agent, and she (and the resort) held a block of rooms for us  for about a month and a half.  We sent out save the dates immediately with an information sheet for our guests including room rates (with our discounted price), the amount of the deposit, our TA's contact info, etc.  Our guests were given a a cut-off date to put down their deposit.  When that time period was over, we put down a deposit to hold 5 more rooms (for 2 more months only) in case there were any stragglers.  Once that time period is up, those rooms will be released and anyone else that wants to book will not get our discounted price.  Almost everyone that we expected to book (and a number that we didn't expect) booked during that initial period.  It worked out well for us because we didn't have to put down the deposit to hold 40 rooms, but we did have to get on the ball very quickly and get out information and STDs together.  Also, all of that happened a year in advance of our wedding, so it was no big deal for a resort of AS's size to hold those rooms for us.

I've never been to a destination wedding, so I don't have a lot of experience, but I think it is a good idea to put together a package and make it easy for your guests.  Depending, of course, on how important it is to you for people to come.  And we definitely negotiated a better price than they would have gotten on their own.  And there are perks for having a block of rooms for your wedding, depending on the size of your party, and I don't know that you would get those perks if all your guests booked on their own.  That's just my two cents.

We bought FI linen suit at Harry Rosen, but it was in the summer time.

For anyone booking the Sky Deck for the webcast....IT  DOES NOT WORK! Another bride told me that her mom tried for her wedding and it didn't work for her. I was still optimistic about it and sent out the link to at least 20 people and NONE of them were able to view it. I still wouldn't have changed my ceremony location, but if that's a big part of why you're booking the Sky Deck just wanted to give that heads up.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
