Is it $5 or $50 per person?

You can have a pool side reception after your dinner in a restaurant..The Poolside offers a set up of tables and chairs, lights and candles at a cost of US 5 per person. Open bar comes at a cost of US10 persons. This is available from 6:30pm -10:30pm. The DJ is at an additional cost of US 150 per hour.

Does anyone know if there is more than one DJ?! Or if there is a place to set up a cd player or IPOD around the pool? I guess I should have asked Chandlyn about this....

Im assuming if they can get a cd player on the beach for the ceremony, they will be able to set up a cd by the pool....

$5 per person is just for table and chair setup

$10 per person is for open bar

$15 for just the reception (no food) which includes open bar, tables, chairs and candles.

$50 ($55 in 2009) is for a full reception including chairs, tables, food, and drink

hclarke,
Your wedding is the day before mine. I actually lucked up the other day and called the resort and was able to speak with Chandlyn directly. My wedding is on a Friday, and when I called the poolside reception was already booked. I was pretty bummed about that, but I was able to get the Seagrape. After looking at the slideshow, I now want a full beach reception, but not sure how the finances will even out. But you should call first thing on Monday (that's when I did) and I was able to reach her immediately. Good luck! By the way my name is LaTrice. Praying for good weather during our weddings!

Hi ladies,

I was reading thru this thread...and I see you guys chatting back and forth about trying to book your receptions. Well, OUR wedding isn't until May 2010--which we have booked since March---do you guys know how soon you can actually book your reception venues? I know our wedding is still a year away--but there's three weddings a day....what if all three wedding parties want to book The Seagrape, or all three want to book the poolside for receptions? lol....I'm a planner--and I want to get the major things booked....what are the chances of being able to book something this far ahead ya think?? I'd hate to start sending emails n stuff to the wedding department a year in advance..but if thats what I got to do...............

Thanks for the helpful info. I LOVE the idea of having dinner in one of the resturants and then having a party at Seagrape.... and much more cost effective too!! How far in advnace did you book Seagrape for the reception?

Thanks for your help.

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
