ROR Flowers!

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies,

I was just in touch with Chandlyn and she was able to send me pictures of the basic flower bouquets! Unfortunately, like most people on here, I don't really like any of the arrangements. I was hoping that they would have tropical flowers, seeing that it is Jamaica and all, but don't seem to have any. Chandlyn told me that I can upgrade through Tai Flora Services Ltd. - Jamaica's Full Service Florists. Has anybody gone this route? If so, have to I go about doing it. Do I have to call them to have the bouquets arranged ahead of time? Or does Chandlyn take care of that once you are there, since it is the resorts florist?!

Thanks once again! Xo

Hiya!!

I didn't like the arrangements they offered either...and the upgrades didn't seem to have the colors I am using as well.

I believe she will email you about 2 months before your wedding and make arrangements with you. If you are wanting an upgrade keep note of what you want so you can respond quickly. I would also ask for vertification of the upgrade etc.

Personally, I am having silk flowers made here and bringing them with me since I want to keep my bouquet and didn't honestly like what the Riu had to offer without breaking my budget wink.gif

Good Luck & Welcome!

I upgraded when I got there. I had emailed Chandlyn and Tai Flora a few months beforehand telling them that I wanted an assortment of gerber daisies. On the day of our meeting at the Riu, Chandlyn called Tai Flora and was told they were not available. But they did manage to scrounge up some dark pink gerber daisies and paired them with white roses, which looked great. BUT...they do cost a lot. My bouquet was $174, which I thought was extremely high.

First off, don't expect Chandlyn to contact you about anything. If you email her first, she'll reply with a short email but don't expect her to offer any information that you didn't specifically ask for.

Second, as for flowers, you pick and choose at your planning session. There's a book of the standard carnations/daisy arrangements which you have seen. Then there's the upgrade book (from Tai Floral.) I picked about 4 bouquets before I found something that they had in stock and didn't cost $250. Here's a picture of my bouquet, it was $110 for mine, the bridesmaid bouquet (same flowers, smaller size) was $65 and the bouteniers (pink rose) were $9 each I believe.

Keep in mind that these flowers travel from Montego Bay and there's no guarantees that anything will be in stock on the day you need it. My flowers were wilty when I got them. I kind of wish I had just so I could have kept my bouquet, I cried a bit when I had to leave it in the hotel room as we were checking out.

If you're interested, I do have the Tai Floral catalogue. It's too big to post here but I can email it. Unfortunately there are no prices in it, but it's good to get a rough idea I guess.

When we had the meeing with Chandlyn I was looking at the free arrangement and didn't see anything I wanted so I told her the color of my BM dress and my dress was cream. So she called tai flower and asked them if thy had something in those color. I choose roses because it was a lot cheaper then the tropical one. I payed 65$ for mind (12 roses) and 40$ for the BM (6 roses). I don't regret paying for them, they were so beautifull.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
