Haven't had a email response from her in a week and a half and wondering should I reach out to a manager or will my wedding me sabotaged if I do?? Ahhhhh breath! Namistay
Angelica is my WC. There were a few times when her responses were slow. I did notice that when I sent her a bunch of questions and confirmations to make, it took longer for her to get back to me, so I tried to be patient. I would say send her one more reminder email. She was very good about getting all the information I requested, so I imagine it just takes time to hear back from people on the MP end.

For those that have been to Moon Palace - Since we are going to be there for 11 days, should we upgrade our room to something bigger than the normal rooms or are they pretty big already? Do they have a sitting area in the room? My FI mentioned this to me today so I figured I would ask all of you first before asking our TA.

Hello Everyone,

I haven't really contributed a lot to the forum because well I don't really have all that much information to add. I'm pretty calm with the wedding planning (at least so far) but I'm starting to wonder if I should be making more arrangements with the Moon Palace?

I emailed the person who is in charge of our wedding in Miami to see when I can start making set plans and getting things booked and she said aside from the time and date everything else has to wait until the hotel WC contacts us -which will be about 3 months prior. I was okay with this until I read someone in the forum that people weren't able to get the gazebo or reception location they wanted because they were no longer available...

What have other brides done? If we wait until 3 months prior do you think we can get the wedding of our dreams or will it be more of a take what you can get situation?

Does anyone have any advice?

Shinbinea, I know some of us had success getting our Miami coordinators to assign a Cancun coordinator early by asking about pricing a lot and all this - for budgeting purposes. I remember I really wanted to make sure I had the Tucan Gazebo, so I just kinda nagged until I got a contact for Cancun.

Thanks so much everyone. I finally heard from Angelica today she still left some of my questions unanswered so I had to send her another email. What's funny is we really thought we would have 50 guest tops and it has become 120!!!! Good news is that we are loved, bad news OOT bags are going to cost more than the wedding :) J/K I'm so thankful we will have a big bunch. I only wish I participated in this website sooner, is that why I am not able to open some links on other ladies threadshuh.gif Anyway to get around that?

Liz1717 looks like your big day is next weekend and you are still sane enough to be on this site. I pray for that serenity.

TinaM2b you are 2 weeks before me and nibsmom 1 week before me, I only wish I could have been in touch sooner. Best wishes!

I can't get to sleep tonight thinking of things I need to get done.... and I only have two weekends left..... I guess I am starting to get a little nervous! We are down to 15 days till we leave for Cancun, 3 weeks till our wedding!

Any recent brides, I already posted this question but how big are the rooms? Do they have a sitting area or should we upgrade if we want this?

I KNOOWWWW - we are all so close!! It's crazy!!! What do people still have left to do? I still have to get all my playlists together - that's a big stressor right now. Probably going to spend about a million dollars on iTunes. UGH. I sent a super long email to Claudia a few days ago, and as long as that all gets taken care of, our stuff on the MP end should mostly be taken care of. Cutierosie posted her awesome planning document in her review, and I copied it! It has helped me get so organized! Thanks Rosa soooo much!

Tina, I feel like the rooms don't really have a sitting area. I was wondering this too, because I feel like I'm going to have a lot of people in my room when I'm getting ready. Matt will have to get ready somewhere else! LOL.

Cancun, you probably can't open some things because you don't have enough points because you haven't posted a lot. Post in a few different threads - up in the General Wedding Info section you could post your wedding dress or something - and you'll get enough points to open stuff soon!!

Tina that sucks that some friends have had identities stolen and the like. I guess for us it wasn't a big deal b/c the resort has access to all of the information anyway from our (and our parents) passports and such. We were fortunate that we didn't need our paperwork translated here in NY so we didn't have to pay any extra. :)

There really isn't a sitting area. There is a table and two chairs next to the bed but the jacuzzi takes up a lot of space (at least on the Nizuc side). Our room did have a small balcony as well. I have heard that the rooms on the Grand side are bigger but I didn't visit any of those rooms.

There really is no bad place to get married there. I really didn't care which gazebo I got so I didn't worry about it. If you are worried you can put the request in to the Miami WC and they can pass it on but they won't guarantee anything.

How exciting that you are going to have so many people! Definitely participate and post and you can gather points really easily to open the documents.

Hi everyone it's been a while since I have logged on. Shinbinea - I am in the same boat as you - wedding isn't until April 2010 so I feel like I have nothing to do yet? We did choose the Amber collection upgrade and the Tucan Gazebo at 5 p.m. I am not sure if the 2009 brides had to choose a color theme upfront but it is very difficult matching color schemes from a picture on the internet. My WC is Claudia and I asked but she said they cannot mail me a color swatch sad.gif So really all I have started doing was buying things now while it's summer and things are out for my welcome bags and started looking for bridesmaids dresses.. Not much else we can do at this point I guess? 7 people have booked so that is exciting!! Starting to feel real now!

One question for the more experienced MP brides to be - I did send out save the dates in April (one year from the wedding). When I am supposed to mail out the actual invitation and any suggestions where to order them from? Do you only mail the actual invitation to those that booked or to everyone that received a save the date?

Thanks everyone and hope to hear from you soon. I definitely need to get on here more you guys are great!

Hey Avery! Welcome back! How exciting that they've already assigned you a WC! I have Claudia too. I'm glad I didn't have to pick a color package, but in some ways, I think the new packages they have are a better deal! I had ended up just doing the free package and adding on what I wanted. I bet it is hard to match a color though - that is kind of silly.

As far as invitations go, I was on a tight time schedule, so we sent ours out all compressed together. I think it's really up to you - I sent mine out I think in February for our July wedding. I've also sent out several other mailings though (YAY Vistaprint and free postcards and brochures)! I sent out a postcard in March reminding people about the 50% deposit, and I sent out a brochure last month to all the people who had booked detailing customs, travel insurance, packing lists, etc.

I did send my invitations to everyone who had gotten an STD - but I didn't want anyone to feel left out. If it's not in your budget, I would say you don't need to send formal invitations to people who have already definitely told you they are not coming.

For my STDs and invitations, I used Ana de Roux, who is a forum member and makes beautiful stuff!! I believe her web address is Ana de Roux {Custom Invitations, Statinery & Design}. I used mini passports for my STDs and boarding passes for my invitations. They came out great!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
