Future Ms.Moulton - thanks for the info! That's interesting, it's weird it seems like everyone is being told something different? That's crazy they won't honor your contract? So what are they telling you was the point of signing a group contract?

Thanks Indy Chic. That definitely helps, thanks! This whole group contract needs to be better explained to people when booking! I like you, was not told about anything. Only that to get the free incentives you needed to have the group contract. So I said sure. I think like MoonPalaceBride said the MP will more than likely accomodate us no matter what to keep us happy it's just frustrating because there's a lot of money involved. Thanks so much for the information, I am starting to calm down a little now

I did respond to Claudia - how do incentives like the cocktail hour, etc. come in to play if Moon Palace has nothing to do with the contract? I have a feeling you are right, I think when it comes down to it MP will accomodate us I just do not want to have to get stuck paying for rooms not booked. Right now we have 14 rooms booked, but should have 16 with the other 2 rooms I was talking about they will not honor.. I believe I have the other couple possible bookings as well so I guess I will wait and see. I will definitely be firm with MP it's still 20 rooms booking for my wedding giving them business you know? So excited we'll have to chat more about plans, etc. I feel like I still have so much to do!

Hi everyone. I am getting married on April 23, 2010 and was wondering if anyone else was getting the run around regarding your "group contract". Initially I was under the impression that the contract was with the resort considering that their web site states that the free cocktail hour, reception, etc. was only valid with a group contract. Well I was wrong. My travel agent is now telling me that the only rooms that count towards my group contract are one's that booked with my travel agent Liberty Travel at their specific office. Not other locations in other cities? For example, a friend of mine didn't think anything and I was never told so she went to a Liberty Travel near her house and booked. My TA is telling me those 2 rooms do not count towards my 20 room contract. It's BS. Than to make matters worse I figured ok well I will go right to the source, I emailed my WC and asked her about it, if they would honor any rooms booked towards my contract considering a room is a room, and money is money and her response was that I have to talk to my TA, she handles my travel accomodations... Like as if MP has nothing to do with the group contracts?? Help!!!

Doblauvelt - hi - when we sent in the wedding reservation request, Claudia the WC emailed me introducing herself and letting me know she was my contact should I have any questions. Also in the email was our contract # and contract we had to sign and fax back to her with credit card information for the package we were purchasing (which was the Amber Collection). On that form was where I chose the Amber color, the Tucan Gazebo, 5 p.m. for the wedding time, etc. I assume you sent in the wedding reservation form? Maybe they are busy and overwhelmed with recent weddings an email couldn't hurt?

Hi everyone it's been a while since I have logged on. Shinbinea - I am in the same boat as you - wedding isn't until April 2010 so I feel like I have nothing to do yet? We did choose the Amber collection upgrade and the Tucan Gazebo at 5 p.m. I am not sure if the 2009 brides had to choose a color theme upfront but it is very difficult matching color schemes from a picture on the internet. My WC is Claudia and I asked but she said they cannot mail me a color swatch So really all I have started doing was buying things now while it's summer and things are out for my welcome bags and started looking for bridesmaids dresses.. Not much else we can do at this point I guess? 7 people have booked so that is exciting!! Starting to feel real now! One question for the more experienced MP brides to be - I did send out save the dates in April (one year from the wedding). When I am supposed to mail out the actual invitation and any suggestions where to order them from? Do you only mail the actual invitation to those that booked or to everyone that received a save the date? Thanks everyone and hope to hear from you soon. Hi everyone! I haven't been on here in a while, but we are finally booked at MP April 23, 2010. Just signed contract and my WC, Claudia, contacted us via email... Very exciting now that it's booked! Thanks everyone for the great posts, although my wedding is over a year away the posts are so helpful. I look forward to chatting with other 2010 brides since we're basically all in the same boat here just in the beginning of the planning. I did choose the Amber Collection and that's as far as I have gotten! Chris

Leogurl - I am right there with you about the Moon Palace. That is a lot to ask people to pay. I really want to get married there the wedding packages are great they just emailed me all the information if you want me to email you them? In reading reviews it seems there are not that many negatives at all about the resort. Except the beach. What other resorts are you considering?

Hi I am in the process of booking our wedding at Moon Palace April 2010 and the only thing that has me concerned about the resort is the beach? I have read posts and reviews that the beach is not the best... Any one have any information that may ease my mind? Other then the beach issue I am SO excited to get my wedding booked and my STD's out!!

Hi all I am also a soon to be 2010 bride but have NO IDEA which resort to go with it's overwhelming! Price is definitely our #1 determining factor for our guests, along with a family resort for our 11 month old daughter and several guests who have children. Our TA talked us into late April after Easter she said the prices are much more reasonable. We have been researching Iberostar Pairiso Lindo and Moon Palace, both family resorts. Only negative I have found for Moon Palace was the beach. Iberostar does not seem to have the wedding package option that Moon Palace does though.. Decisions! In reading everyones posts there seems to be many bride to be's booking at other resorts such as Dreams and Riu. Any advice/info. from anyone would be so much appreciated! Hi all. I am a Newbie from NJ looking into planning a DW in Mexico. My TA has given me prices/info for Riviera Maya - and I am torn between Iberostar Paraiso Lindo vs. Moon Palace. Any info, opinion, pics would be greatly appreciated because both seem like great places to get married its just making the decision that has me confused!!
