Good luck lol I was told if anything is honeymoon related they want a copy of your wedding licence to prove you are on honeymoon or else anyone could book the honeymoon suite and say they are

Ahh I see. To answer your question, no, I haven't given a detailed review of the Excellence Riviera Cancun, just a brief description on my experience, along with a link to our photos.

Value of the Eternity honeymoon package cannot be redeemed as a discount. It is more of a complementary for spending more mula on higher category rooms.

The Dreams honeymoon and anniversary package is just champagne and fruits. The champagne breakfast in bed is BS since the resort offers 24 hours room service so you can order breakfast at anytime. Special turn down service is another BS since the maids clean your room daily and prepares your bed daily for all rooms (I've asked all my guests who didn't have the honeymoon package).

The Eternity package is great since you get the Spa treatments and private dinner as well as the petit fours each evening.

Honestly, a few of our guests said it was their anniversary upon check in and when they went into their room, they got the Dreams honeymoon stuff. I don't think they're enforcing the paperwork on this one.

For those of you who have been to dreams, I need you! Instead of having a welcome party (and paying $10 pp), I'm just going to do 'welcome cocktails' and have our guests all meet at a bar and drink together. I want to put the info in my newsletter that I'm sending out but without being at the resort, I'm not sure what bar would be best. We have about 40 people coming so it would need to be a pretty spacious place. Any ideas?

that's a good idea, since i'm not paying for a welcome dinner either ... it's an all-inclusive! but i would like to gather everyone for a toast and to give out their welcome bags (no way i'm paying for them to deliver them ... we don't have *that* many to make it worth it. plus it's probably a little more special to hand them out personally, no?

However, others have said their resorts had large cups and guests didn't use them.

Do you think stadium cups would be useful for the guests?
They are not as small as dixie cups, but I know we didn't have any problem whatsoever getting drink after drink after drink... We were all over the place - personally I wouldn't want to keep tabs on stadium cup.

We all met in the lobby bar and went to a themed dinner they had that Friday. All other restaurants on the premises close when they have these (used to be Tues and Fri nights) so it worked out well. They have it in a ball room.

Hi - We did a "meet and greet" at the lobby bar and it worked out perfectly because its a large space that also has a patio. We had 50 people and everyone was able to get drinks quickly and sit comfortably. That would be my pick for the best bar to meet a large group in.
