Yup it was that simple although i never had to pay for blood test. My certificate took 4 months to get to me (over christmas) annnnd then i just paid $40 to get it translated.

I've heard people say they ended up going with a symbolic wedding just because it was easier. I thought all that you needed was a passport,a tourist card, and blood test to be done at the resort for $90. Then they mail you your marriage certificate in 3months. Is there something I am missing that makes this difficult? Thanks for any input!

Already done :)  They are in the Official thread.  Here: http://www.bestdesti...ad#post_1663897

Let me know if there is something specific that I didn't list out.  There are a million massages and such, so I didn't list those all.

Did anyone who had a poolside reception have problems with mosquitoes?  I'm wondering if I should set out bug spray for our guests :)

It depends on the season.  In November, they were terrible!!!!  In January when I went, a few guests had problems, but only when they walked on the beach or in the sand.  In April, not a bug to be found.

So, I'd err on the side of caution and perhaps provide OFF wipes?  Easy to pack and easy to use.

Some of our guests booked in advance and I would recommend it. We didn't book in advance and were unable to make any reservations earlier than midnight. We ended up taking to Jazmin about it and she made a couple for us that were for 10:00pm.

Hi, I have been trying to decide on footwear for myself and my bridesmaids!  I have not been outside of Canada ever so I am not sure what the beaches are like.  We are getting married at the akumal location!  Are flip-flops impossible to walk in and is the sand to hot to walk on?  We are getting married at 4pm.  The girls would like to go barefoot but someone mentioned the sand would be to hot1? Any thoughts
