Wedding day fishing?

Recommended Posts

so my FI wants to do a half day deep sea fishing trip with his groomsmen and our dads the day of the wedding. hmmmmm I'm trying to be supportive and I know that would be soooo much fun for him. the wedding isn't until 4pm and it's not a huge resort. So i really don't even want him around b/c I'm afraid we'll run into each other. when he first mentioned the trip i thought it was a great idea. it's from 8-noon which gives him plenty of time to get back, sober up a little bit, and get ready. That was until i mentioned it to his sister who totally rained on my parade. she said what if all of the guys get sea sick (i said they'll take dramamine). she said what if they get a sunburn or a stupid sunglasses tan (spf, hello?) so now i'm not sure if i want him doing it or not. he said if it's going to freak me out he can just go play golf or something but i know he'd much rather fish.

would anyone else have a problem with this?

My FH is going fishing on the day of our wedding also. I told him just show up on time and don't be full of fish guts I may have to add the sunburn part but he is looking forward to the wedding as much as me so I am sure he will be responsible (I hope) like your FH.

Don't let your sister get you freaked out. I think it sounds like a great idea for the guys to get a way, so that you can get ready with your girls and not worry about running into eachother! It's just 4 hours - and they could just as easily get sunburned or what not hanging around the resort. Send them out with some dramamine and SPF and don't worry!

My Dad wants to take all the boys out on a fishing trip as well. But they will be doing it the day after the wedding. I agree with your friend on the sunburn issue, that could be really bad for pics. And what if they get lost at sea!! Ha! Ha! I'm sure that won't happen, but probably planning an activity on land for the boys might be a safer choice.

Sure he could get sunburned on the trip- that is, if he isn't already sunburned from lounging around the resort first. I wouldn't freak. Plus generally people that get sea sick recover pretty quickly once on dry ground. I wouldn't worry too much!

my FI is doing a fishing trip the day before the wedding. My only concern is the sea sick part, some friends of ours went on vacation when we were in Cabo...3 of the guys got really sick! Ahhh!, and they were unable to go out that night. Not all the guys got sick though so it depends on your FI & friends..I think it's a good idea, especially so you don't run into him the day of the wedding I would just be cautious, have them take something for naseau maybe before they go.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
