Canadians ordering from Oriental Trading?

Recommended Posts

  • 1 month later...

Alright so after I was impatiently wondering when my order will ship yesterday, I get an email last night that it has crossed into Canada with Borderfree and will be delivered on 6/02 (according to tracking on Canada Post).. that will be 2 weeks exactly from when it was shipped out from OTC.. that's pretty good I think.

For me, my shipping was only I think 8$ at checkout, but then after clicking next and going through the borderfree part of the checkout, gst and pst were added, as well as another fee (I forget, I think maybe it was a handling free for borderfree) so that made my order go up by about 15$ or something. I was really annoyed about the last minute surprise (my order was only like 30$ and now all my shipping & other additional charges were almost as much as my order!) but went through with the purchase anyways.

They calculate the duty for you, so you'll never get a surprise duty bill with the delivery, that's the purpose of borderree.

No, they are shipped with the United States Postal Service, which then transfers the packages to Canada Post.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
