Flight date CHANGED!!

Recommended Posts

I knew it was going to be bad news when my TA called my on her day off....my flight has been changed!! We were scheduled to leave on November 19 and have our wedding on the Saturday (nov 22), but our new flight leaves on NOV21/08. THE DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING!!hissyfit.gif

I had booked with the hotel (Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana) in October of last year and we already had scheduling conflicts and we were so far ahead of the game, now i'm not sure what we're going to get in terms of times for the ceremony and reception....or even if we're going to be able to book the reception location we want as it seems that it's the more popular one (Garden Grill Terrace).

I'm so upset. From reading other posts i was aware that changes might occur but i was trying to keep hopeful that it wasn't going to happen to us and now it has. Has this happened to anyone else and how did you deal with it?!?!

Someone please show me the light at the end of the tunnel.

Sonia

Did they tell you why your flight was changed?

I would call the resort ASAP to let them know you'll be there a day later than planned.

The ceremony/reception site shuldn't be a problem though sinec you already booked those places a year ago for that date.

Good luck and I'm sorry.

Sorry to hear about this. but I guess at least you found out about this now so you can possibly have other options, than closer to your actual wedding.

Are you having a legal or symbolic ceremony? I would think the only problem you would have if you were planning a legal ceremony in DR. Then the legal stay requirements would be an issue. Other than that, I think since you have everything already reserved, you should be fine. You still can meet with the coordinator the day before the wedding and that should not be a big issue. What time does your new flight get in?

Let us know how things work out. hug2.gif

That's odd. Why the change? Can you change it back or find an alternative way? Even with everything already planned, I wouldn't want to get there the day before. It gives you no time to just relax before the ceremony. I hope you find some way to fix it. Keep us updated.

I'm sorry to hear about this change, but from another PC bride to be, you need to call the resort ASAP. I don't know if your resort requires a waiting period, but some of them on the island do require a 3 day period before the wedding date to get everything organized. YOu should also contact your TA and see if there is an earlier flight. You don't want to be rushed the day before your wedding to hurry up and get things in order with the resort. I hope all works out well for you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
