I just realised you are coming from Canada. Where in Canada.

I was told that after April, flights do not leave here to go to Costa Rica untill mid December (and dates in December can not be guaranteed because they start the flights up again when they decide to, and you might not know till a month in advance).

You can fly to Atlanta first, that is what I was told, but it works out to be a lot more money, and, I would hate to be changing planes with my luggage and stuff for my wedding, I would be so scared something important would get lost.

If you want to go Jan to April though, you will have no problem.

I will be getting married in CR in September. Please let me know if you need any help. I am in the United States though so I don't know much about the airlines/flights in Canada. I know that the first time I flew to CR I had to connect in Atlanta. I don't recommend it. Try to find a direct flight. Paying extra will be totally worth it. TRUST ME!

The problem is, if you are getting married between May and December and you live in Canada, you have to go to Atlanta first, no choice, no matter what you pay. So, keep that in mind.

I hope it works out for you, and your wedding date falls into the timeline when flights leave from your city.

THANKS JULIE!!!

Wow, that was awsome information about resorts. I am from Ottawa and would have to go to TO to fly there. One small problem with CR is that I will have guests coming from Edmonton, Sudbury, Montreal, and Ottawa. I know Air Canada will arrange to fly everyone into TO but some of our guests aren't the most seasoned travellers so I would like to make it as easy as possible. There are flights out of Edmonton, but they arrive 3 days before the TO flights. Our plan is to get married in early Jan so I wouldn't have to worry about flights down, but thanks for the heads up I never realized that it would even be a problem. ALthough I still haven't picked which country we are going to get married in yet, Costa Rica is on my short list. Sara

No problem. Costa Rica was my first choice, but due to the flight issue, we are not going there now. I also have come info on Panama (that was my second choice, but they only fly out on Monday's and I don't want my guests to have to take a week and a day off work). And lots of info on Cuba, where I am getting married.

So, let me know if you need more help.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
