ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Aerazo we made the same choice because of the extra shoot. We are doing a sunst catamaran with snorkling excursion and just thought it be awsome to use the extra shoot for it.

Good luck Cyndi

Hello ladies....some questions...sorry if these are repeats

1) Tipping. Did you guys tip your WC, musicians, photographers/videographers, servers, DJs. And at what $ or %?

2) Taste testing. Were you able to taste test the food before your wedding?

Thanks!

Tutti-

I am not ordering lounger furniture, but do have info on the DJ since this is what I need to get done today :) It looks like I will be going with DJ Doremixx and there is also a DJ Mannia. Both of these vendors can be booked through the hotel but cost more. If you hire them out privately, there is a $100 fee to bring them in, but it is still cheaper than booking through the hotel. Another piece of advice, as I have been going through this process, KEEP EVERY COMMUNICATION from the hotel where any price has been quoted. They have already tried to change the prices on me a few times, and I just keep sending back old correspondences, to make sure we are clear and I will not accept a higher price once a quote has been given.

Another question for people out there-anyone doing a rehersal excursion or dinner or something? Curious as to what people are planning.

I would love to hear what others are doing for their rehearsal dinners too.

I've heard that you cannot make dinner reservations for a large group at any of the restaurants at the resorts. So if this is true, not sure what to do? Does this mean i have to do something off the resort, which means $$$$. Im trying to cut costs where i can!

Thanks!

Hi all,

To Allison and others: I was thinking about having my guests meet up at one of the bars the night before the wedding. Kind of like a meet and greet. I saw that another bride did this and loved that it is no extra $ for us. Plus it is casual and doesn't take too much planning.

Question for all...Are you all having a reception after you get home (for people who cannot travel). If so are you sending out a seperate invitation?

In regards to the rehearsal dinner... I am having a welcome dinner the night before. We are having about 50 people (I think) and we wanted to have this for our guest. My WC has arranged for the garden area to be reserved for me and it looks like it will be around $25 per person to provide this dinner. You have the option of a sit down dinner or a buffet... I'm excited about it and it gives my future in-laws an opportunity to host the guest. Let me know if you have any questions... Finally I have some info for people :)

Or if they do no set up for the cocktail hour and just expect people to stand around or sit down at one of the round tables that is there for the reception...

Thanks!

Adriana... I have a question for you. I have considered doing this because I am going to have lounge furniture and thought it would be a good way to get some use out of it :) What time is your ceremony? What are the times of your coctail and receptionhuh.gif I think you should consider the lounge furniture... it is a great set up for something like that....

I was wondering if anyone could give me the information for the lounge furniture that you can order. I also would love to get a name of a good DJ and photographer.

I'm sort of lost on all of this. I'm not sure where to begin in planning. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!!!

Hi Tutti congrats!!

We are using Ivan from Dj Doremixx [email protected]
He came so highly recommended and we just read great reviews. He also was very quick to respond. Def book through him not the resort! its $100 extra but it is still much less expensive to do it this way.

For lounge area we are going through the Royal. Each set is $250 and includes 5 pieces, couch, two chairs and a table.

Happy Planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
