We're probably doing the same timeline. I think it works best this way! Enough time for pictures and gives time for thoses guests who want to maybe freshen up before dinner.

Ours is at 3pm. Hoped to push it til 4 but not possible.

So ceremony is at 3 and reception begins at 5pm.

Was hoping for pre and post cocktail reception at the gazebo but not sure if $$ will alllow... So, there could be some lag time for guests but hopefully they won't get too hammered before the reception starts. lol.

Tami -- I am having my wedding around the same time as you did this year. Do you recommend having the ceremony at 3pm like you did? Or perhaps a little later? Filling out the paperwork now and they are asking me for a preferred slot. The ideal situation is that we get the ceremony out of the way around 3 or 4, have some time for cocktails afterwards, and then off for beautiful sunset pictures.

We've booked ours for 3:30, cocktail hour from 4-5 and then dinner's at 7.

I asked the WC when the sun sets on our day and she says shortly after 5pm, so hopefully we'll have time for photos in light and then as the sun sets.

I got worried though after reading all these horror stories of judges not turning up in time, being like an hour late or never showing, so I also wanted to make sure that even if the wedding starts a little late we won't be in the dark. :)

Ladies, it looks like we have the same schedule :)
Our ceremony is at 5, (am hoping half an hour or less), pictures will be taken afterward with our cocktail/h'ors deurves being served, and then the reception is slated for 7, or as soon as we are done with everything.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
