  1. They are AMAZING!!! I booked them last april and I was her second or third wedding. The pics and the video are better than anything I have seen in the USA. Everyone was telling me not to spend alot on pics, but im glad I did my own thing. She was cheaper than a USA photographer but more than the resort photo person. I have people always asking who did my pics there that good. I walked away with amazing pics and videos.. You will not be disappoited. If we go back for our anniversary we may use than again...
  2. We choose the paradisus punta cana- We had 25 people- 23 adults and 2 kids. It was perfect.... 11 restaurants many pools, casino, live shows- everyone who went wants to go back...
  3. The paradisus had it as an option- it was 1500.00 for 5 mins if my memory is correct. This resort does offer it but it was pricey- we did 2 fie dancers instead
  4. The site is still up- and the main web site for them is just as nice as well. Alot of the photo's on their site were taken @april and may. She had several booked. Anyone who books them will not be disappoited
  5. I have PPC - I dont know how great they will be but I can send you through snapfish- Send me a private email with your address and Ill send you 6 different peoples' pics from our wedding
  6. The WC planner did read everything in english after the judge spoke. It was not a problem and no one said anything. My friend got married in mexico and it was the same way. Usually they ask if you want a guests to translate or the wedding planner. We choose the wc
  7. My reception was at alberfura- and it was not my first choice the marino was. But am I glad we switched it... I loved it, it was private and we had a dance floor, everyone had a blast. We had a dj and firedancers- its a perfect location- HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!! The marino's floor is like a boardwalk and so big and open- its the large buffet everyday for breakfest and lunch- wasn't a fan
  8. I had a private reception at the resort in the one restaurant- it worked out great.. Firedancers, dj and food, and dancing, etc.. What resort are you choosing
  9. WE had a MC- We had a friend do all the annoucing- our dance, father daughter dance, speeches , etc... The DJ doesn't intro anything at the paradisus punta cana- you could always ask the wedding people too
  10. When I got married in April- she was getting really busy. For May- July this year... They are usually very fast with emails but when they have alot of weddings it may take some time. That is what my experience was with them. I know they live @45 min away from the majority of resorts too. We were married at the paradisus and it took her @45min each way to meet us. All the brides have everything when they leave the island- so it doesn't give them alot of time. We got married on Friday and Monday she meet with us and wed in the am she gave us everything before we left that day. Its fast-
  11. my parents called their cc company that we used for the wedding and told them the @amount we would be charging and the day.
  12. Just watch out traveling from the US to DR. I carried alot of cash because we did excursions and our photographer took cash only. My sister was stopped by customs- they said you can only bring 1,000.00 in cash into DR. I was not stopped but her, my parents, and 2 cus's all were asked.
  13. Hey ladies- No worries.... I got married on April 25th and it was fed ex to me yesterday. So, I would say it took about 2 months total. So, the 6 month or longer wait is over...
  14. Don't worry girls- She is very , very nice. She was at my wedding in April. She is a little slower than viviana, but it will come together. She just sent me an email that my wedding lic was in the office and going to be fed ex out. She was very fast to my replies. Worst case you could call viviana at the palma real.
  15. At the resort- you will almost always use american dollars. I never in 10 days got domincan pesco's. I had 2 quests that did because they used the ATM. My excursion- and everything we used us dollars. The conversion is crazy too... Its 34 to 1
  16. I plugged in the camera battery and cell phones- ur fine with no converter. My friends had hair straightners and were fine too.. The older hotels I heard you need the european converter
  17. Our wedding was april 25th- we were at the resort from april 21st - may 1st and it rained 1 day all day almost. The rest of the time it was a quick shower or 2 during the day. Nothing major!!!
  18. My wedding was at the paradisus punta cana!!! 24 people including us... We had several extras- we did a private reception, dj, firedancers, upgraded cake & flowers Total 5800.00 but our photographer we booked separate- outside the resort. So, thats a separate cost..What is so expensive is the sales tax its 16% on my invoice. So, really it was less than 5800.00 but thats including the ridiciolous tax
  19. great news!!! you will love them.. i am so happy I used severine!!
  20. I did use the salon for my hair and they were great.. BUT!!! I went somewhere in the states before I left and did a trial run. I brought a camera andtook pictures of every step. My hair was simple but i have to say the Paradisus hair people did it exactly like the US hair person. I had 4 other girls that got their hair done and only 1 was unhappy. Shes never happy with anything- so she wasn't going to be happy no matter. I did booked all 5 appoitments in advance before I got to the resort. Just because their is 1 or 2 weddings a day and they are always after 4pm so I didn't want 2 brides and friends running around. It worked out my wedding was at 5pm but rteally was 530 and I was the first appoitment at 1pm. There is only 2 girls that do hair so keep that in mind. They did my hair and my friends at 1pm, and the next 2 people were at 2pm and so on.. They book 1 hout appoitments but I didn't need the whole time.
  21. I just heard back from the wedding planner and the judge told her a month. I am crossing my fingures
  22. I used the salon- I got my hair done in the US and I brought pics. they just had to copy it. I had set by sept pics- It was very easy. I had 5 others that got their hair done and it was perfect too
  23. WE all had verizon and you added international for free to your plan. You just pay the roaming charges. My bill was 100.00 for 10 days in addition to my current bill
  24. My review - Paradisus Punta cana resort. Air and airport- arriving: We fly direct from philadelphia by USairways (They are mess) We were suppose to land at 1:45pm but we realy landed @5pm The planes tow broke and we waited on the runway for 3 hours. We fly first class but so did a family with 4 kids- yelling and complaining... We finally arrived to a extremely bice airport. The airport had no one but our plane so we went through customs with no stops and we had 6 luggages and 2 carryon bags. We arrived at our hotel in 30 mins or less. The ride is crazy!!!! But just like any other carribean country. RESORT CHECKIN: We booked royal service so at arriving at the front lobby- we were taken to a separate checkin and it was outstanding. No lines and no waits.. The main lobby check in was a mess!!! The check-in 10 mins or less and off to our room. Which was building 19. This building was in front of the beach- we had the cornor room looking at the beach. It wsa amazing. ROOMS: The garden rooms in royal service and beach front rooms really all looked the same. The bathrooms are just ok- it has salloon doors which is weriod but no big deal. Other than that the room is great. we had no complaints. Our butlers for the 8 royal service guests were fantastic. But tip early and they will do what ever you want. drinks, water, extra towels, food, snacks, etc. WE had one guests are the reserves and they are really nice but very far from everything - they were late to everything. Which is annoying!!! But, very modern rooms, but they got a lot of calls about the timeshares. The royal service people in our group got no calls. Go figure. Royal service restaurant is where we ate breakfest everyday- they will make you eggs, omletes, etc. Its air conditioned and no smoking verses the buffet with lines and smoking. They wait on you at the royal service restaurant for lunch and breakfest. Well worth the upgrade!!! Plus the royal service front desk- was easy and no lines ever. The main lobby was crazy all the time. RESTAURANTS: We ate at all the restaurants but the brazilain restaurant. My favorite was Sakura, chinease, steak house. The other restaurants are great too but those were my top 3. Vento, el romincatco, dol votca are worth going to because they have really good food. The seafood restaurant was a waste of time, and limited choices. BEACH & POOL: We sat at the royal service pool and beach everyday. Jerima got us 15-20 chairs every day and drinks all day long. We tipped him and he was our best friend for the week. He even came in on his day off before we left. None of our group went to the regular pool or beach. WEDDING: We had our wedding in the lobby gardens because of rain showers a hour before our ceremony. But, it worked out for the best because the sun was shinning and no one had wet beach sand on them. We got married at 530pm - we had a civil ceremony and sand ceremony together. It was @25 mins total. We used the domincan trio and it was so carribean. I recommend them for the wedding. We took pics before and after to @7pm on the beach and gardens. The reception was at the alberfura restaurant. We closed the restaurant and had a DJ (3hours), firedancers, and a open bar and buffet all night. It was great and we had 25 people and had a great time. Then everyone changed and went to the lobby bar for a while. We had no problems with viviana- the invoice was the same as before we got there.
  25. I spent @2000.00 but I booked the gold package minus 1 hour. But, I got everything that is included in that package. You will not be disappointed- she was great
