It is totally up to you, how much you want to spend. I told my FI I dont want an expensive band. I want something plain. Something I can wear to work and it not get wrecked(I'm a nurse). Plus I didnt feel right spending $$$ on a band when my engagement ring he had designed and made cost $8000. We chose plain bands and had the insides engraved with "Until my forever ends..." I think the both totalled around $250. But what you decide to spend is completely up to you.

sounds high to me...

but if youre set on that and can afford it, dont feel bad about it, just do it.

I love the Mokume bands! They are insanely expensive though... we thought about these briefly, but even though we found some less expensive bands in our jewelry district, it was still more than we wanted to spend. As all the other ladies said, $5k is relative... totally depends on your situation. We budgeted $2k, which was what worked for us. We ended up a little over, with my band costing $1700 and Sam's about $550. But, we both got exactly what we wanted. My band is custom platinum with diamonds and sapphires, Sam's is from Ireland.

You and FI need to decide what the right budget is for you guys :)

Yari I'm pretty sure we have the same ring (tiffany legacy)...when we went to look at the matching band it was over $4000...where did you find it for $2200huh.gif?

you know, you can always take your engagement ring to a custom jeweler and a printout of the matching band from the tiffany website, and they can make it for you, oftentimes 10x cheaper than buying it from the retailer (in case you decide you want a matching band instead of the mokume)... my engagement ring is based on the tiffany novo with a few custom tweaks i made and cost about 1/3 of the price...and i even got a nicer and bigger stone than the tiffany one i tried on that was about $24,000 and only 1 carat center stone.

Wow - thanks ladies! I needed some sense... I am only a school teacher so my budget is definitely not this category. We have been looking everywhere (for awhile) for an artistic/unique band. I will take your advise and keep looking. I will check into custom making and other web sites! I truly appreciate the comments......

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
