Have you exercised today?

Recommended Posts

Sure did work out today!!!

Actually, I wanted to say I more proud of myself for running around for 8 hours on Sunday at my part time job behind a deli counter, and then still coming home and putting in 40 minutes on my elliptical, + doing arms and abs, even though I was exhausted!!

TONIGHT: Another 500 calories burned with 45 min. elliptical workout, 150 varied crunches, and I don't even KNOW how many curls with 10 lb. weights!

Gotta see some pay-off at my 1st dress fitting next Tuesday, right?! 14 lbs. lost from from when I tried it on when it came in to the salon in November!

KEEP IT UP, GIRLS!!! YOU'RE ALL DOING A-MAZZZZZING!!! wink.gif

I need some motivation to workout! I wish I was one of those people who loved working out but I really hate it! My wedding is 6 months away and I need to lose 30 pounds! I know I can do it because I've done it in the past, its just gettin started thats the hard part!

So i wanted to start a new thread to help us brides get motivated!

What motivates you to get up and work out??

well I'm not a morning workout person.....I actually prefer to do it in the evening. Getting to the gym is the hard part for me, but once I'm there and I'm sweating, I love it. I feel so good afterwards! Combine that with a change in diet, just eliminating all that unhealthy junk, and I just feel so much better inside and out!

good luck with your workouts! It's hard to stay motivated, but just know you're not the only one out there!

Cookies are my #1 weakness!!!

I used to be someone who hated working out, it hurt, it was exhausting, felt like nothing ever changed.

The trick is actually doing something you enjoy, you can find something for sure. I started a bootcamp that I loved years ago and when that ended I found out that kickboxing class was my thing, LOVE kickboxing, I'm down anytime and excited for it. So I say try a variety of things until you find something that keeps you interested and you'll expand from there trying new things.

I myself hate driving to the gym, I cancelled my gym membership and am a devout member of DVD workouts at home. I love them, I never "miss" a class or go "to late to get a good machine" at the gym. To each their own for sure, just find out your preference and what works for you.

Trying classes with friends always works too. I am doing Piloxing this weekend, combo of pilates and boxing.

I get inspired by staring at Victorias Secret bodies going for that, lame I know but it gets me pumped if I keep my ideal body image in my head while working out, I push harder and know that I get that much closer with each workout I do.

I also like googling celebrity diets/workouts. It gives me an idea of how hard these ladies have to work to have the body they have.

LMAO @ put down the Cookies!!!

It's so hard, especially in the cold northeastern winter months. I've gained 20# in the last year, mostly since the wedding, so I am looking to get that weight off, too. I was thinking about getting a Wii and Wii-Fit... A membership at the Y is around $80/month, and I'd have to take the subway to get there (riding the train in sweats is NOT appealing, LOL!)

Now that the weather is better, I've started taking longer walks... although they seem to end at a restaurant...

I really need to get my butt in the right gear, too!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
