Oh god what a relief, I thought maybe I was just being crazy thinking that I can't have the flower centerpieces (allergies) and having to lug all of that stuff around!! I have to bring like 6 big vases (I doubt they have any there) and coral and all of that. I love those pictures you posted from the Knot! I also want the cylinder vases, I just wont be filling them with water. =) I'm super excited. I just don't know what would be the cheapest place to buy them!

i'm doing the ipod thing... we are only having 20-25 guests so it won't be a big deal if people want to change songs or anything. that's what we always do at the parties at our house anyway.. it will just be a pain to make the playlists! we already decided on our ceremony music and our dinner music, so that's a first step!

try Save on Crafts, Wedding Supplies, Flowers, Tulle, Lights, Decorations & Discount Craft Supplies Save-on-crafts first.. their flowers are amazing quality. if they don't have what you want, try Silk Flowers, Silk Wedding Flowers, and Floral Supplies. both great places.. that's where i got all of mine from and they have been beautiful! my mom's friend does floral arrangements so she's going to be putting them together for me.

I am ording from linens direct too they are the cheapest that I have found and I have checked alot of websites, so I'm ordering chairs sashes, table runners, and maybe a tabel cover for the cake table. I am still working on exactly what I want my table decor to look like, but I think I'm leaning toward cylnder vases filled with water, marbles, a LED light, flowers submersed in the water with a floating candle. I am attaching a link to what I'm thinking of. what do you ladies think ? oh yeh also attached a pic of what I want my bouquet to look like.
toya, i am doing the SAME thing for my centerpieces! a word of warning... they are not as easy as they look to put together! i tried one myself and it didn't turn out too hot, so my flower lady is going to do them for me! (she did them for her own daughter's wedding) make sure you use natural colored stones in the bottom.. the colored ones tend to fight with the flowers. also, i believe your flowers have to be secured somehow unless you get some that look good just floating there. i did mine with orchids and it just looked messy.

if you put one together make sure to post it! i'm glad i'll have someone to bounce ideas off of as i figure this out!

woo.. that was me! :) i was told that a table runner 72 in. or longer will work for all of their tables (depending on how much you want hanging over the edges.. if any). also, if you ladies haven't signed up for the dreams forums.. do it! they don't have nearly the frequency of activity that BDW does, but there is a lot of useful information you can search through!

also wanted to add where i got my chair sashes since wedding linens direct was out of my color...

50 Hot Pink satin sashes chair bow ties wedding decor - eBay (item 230380326836 end time Oct-21-09 18:41:42 PDT)

if you are going to make your own either 7'' or 8'' wide is a good size, and i think 108'' long is the standard.. that way you don't have to worry about how big your chairs are!

You're not the only idiot... I am doing it too as it is WAY cheaper... even if you have to pay the extra money for more luggage. Less expensive and you know what you are getting...especially with some of those super ugly linens that DPC offers...YUK!friday.gif

Erin you are doing the iPod thing? I'm wondering how this goes down ladies... like I want to have a reception dinner (gold package I believe), but what else does this entail? Is there the expectation of a dance afterward? FI and I were just planning to do a supper with everyone and then hit the disco.. hahaha

Thanks for all this E, I have been on the save on crafts website but had no clue about the florals website. Thanks for the head up about putting together centerpieces, your right it does look easy, and I have never actaully put one together lol.... so now you've really got me thinking I need to work on this asap lol.... I too am using orchids, so do you think I should choose another flower ? Actually I just thought about something, will I put these together or the WC ? hmmmmmm need to ask Sharron or Deyanira about that too.

Hey Nat,

I plan on making my reception just like it would be here with an intro of the bride and groom, a first dance, dinner, then a toast ,and party til they shut us down since the reception is only 3 hours, I told all my guest we can continue the party in the disco lounge around 11pm

we paid a small fee to have the design set up and then they just charged us per item. maybe $25 to set up the design and $60 to get 25 towels and 12 bags embroidered. i love how it turned out so i'm super happy we did it!

i am doing the ipod thing... we're juts doing dinner, toasts and dancing until we have to leave so with the ipod we can easily control all of that (separate playlists, etc.). we're also not doing first dances, intros or anything like that so that takes a lot of the complication of timing out of it. the one thing i'm trying to do is take out the awkward silences between the songs so they flow into one another. there's a thread in the music section of the forum about that i believe.

the towels are from Beach Towels wholesale manufacturer of custom embroidered monogrammed bath towel for corporate events. i got the bags from the lady who did the embroidery.. she had a whole catalogue, but i'm wondering if they may have a website. she gave us a good discount too since we got so many. they were normally $25 a bag and i think we paid $15? we're only doing 12 though so we could spend a little more.

before i would have said to use another flower, but it's super ironic that we were talking about this because i JUST got a picture from my flower lady! she used an 8 in. cylinder vase and said it was too small, but my ones at home are 11 in. squares so it won't look so cramped. i'm also putting a floating candle on top of these and spreading votives all over the table. what do you guys think?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
