omg! I want warriors carrying me!! -not sure how that'd work in Mexico......hehe... One of the reasons I LOVE this site-- when more "traditional" brides/people make you feel crazy- you find a post like this- and yah!! I'm not crazy!! :) Everyone I've talked too about this has made HUGE deal about it- how I "have" to have my dad walk me down the aisle- and I felt a bit like an a**hole wanting to walk myself..

I'm turning 29 soon, we are paying for the wedding ourselves, and I'm giving myself to Vince, (oh god, is it weird that that phrase freaks me out-"giving myself to him") -so I'm planning on walking myself down the aisle....

I didnt even think about walking down the aisle.. we only have two other couples joining us.. One is my fiances aunt and uncle and the other is my cousin and his wife (my bestfriend). I guess I will walk alone hehe.. I wish my mom could afford to go, I would have her walk me..

I've considered having my brother or daughter walk me down the aisle, since I don't speak with my dad. If all else fails, I will walk it alone. Just think the most wonderful person is waiting for you at the end of the aisle. Family will just have to suck it upsmile78.gif, THIS WILL BE YOUR DAY!!!

I think it's definitely fine if you want to walk down yourself or have your fi meet you. Like a lot of people said its your day!!

I'm having my Dad walk me down the aisle. We really didn't even discuss it, its just something that we both knew would happen. I don't necessarily think of it as myself being a posession to be given, as someone had mentioned. I'm also independant but I think it's just something special that we can share together on my wedding day. I guess I'm not thinking that much into it...

I think I will probably be walking myself down that aisle, as so far only my DH, our three children and one of their friends is coming with us. My children are all girls so they will be my bridesmaids so technically I will be walking down on my own. If I had one of my brothers there (I have 4, but not looking like any can make it) or if my brother-in-law could make it (he has been my brother in-law for 33 years, so i think he has some right by now msnwink.gif ) he may do if he wanted too but other than that I wouldn't have anyone else anyway.

Also in my case it isn't giving me away (having lived with DH for 17 yrs), it would just be walking me down the aisle. I'm not bothered either way. As someone as already said, its your do, do what you want, do what feels right for you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
