Pros: Perfection! Katia Nunez and Elizabeth Sotelo are a Dynamic DUO! The Best of the Best!
Cons: None!
Review of On-Site Wedding Coordinator Elizabeth Sotelo   My wife and I had our wedding at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun on March 7, 2014.  Words can really not describe the amount of love and appreciation that we have for a woman named Elizabeth Sotelo.  She is the most wonderful wedding coordinator anyone could ever ask for!!  She is truly an amazing person, and we now consider her part of our family.   I will be the first to admit that I could be very difficult to please and extremely demanding

Pros: Excellent Wedding Coordinator (Diana)
Hello Brides!   I got married at the Royal Cancun & Gran Caribe Real last Saturday November 3rd. First of all I want to tell you that if you have any doubts about having a destination wedding, don’t! This is the way to go!   We had 60+ guests that came from everywhere (South America, USA, Canada, Spain and one of our friends even came from Australia). Most of our guests were in their early thirties but our parents and grandparents were also there, and there were 5 kids. We asked

Pros: The restaurants, food, service, beach, location, rooms
Cons: Vendor Fees, Wedding Coordinators
Our wedding was on 08.10.2012 at the Royal in Cancun (Real Resorts)   Customs/ Airport: Customs has a green or red light when you go through, kind of a random check. We had to show the receipts for the bridal party gifts. Each person can have up to $300 worth of ‘new’ goods. Otherwise, it was seamless! Our transportation company was waiting outside with a sign. They cost $55 round trip and were always on time and very friendly (cancuntransfers.com).   Resort – A+ I’ve never be

Pros: beach, location, everything!!
Cons: Only thing i wished was longer reception, our ended at 9 pm
For starters let me start off by saying you have nothing to worry about!!!!.. Please don’t even stress the little things it is just not worth it. My day was absolutely amazing more than I could have ever asked for…     This is my 3rd visit to The Royal and we always stay at the Master Suite, which if you are able to do it please do so. The Master Suite is a dream!!! All the rooms are amazing but I just love the freedom of being able to wake up and literally walk out to the pool Amazing

Pros: Everything
Cons: none
I got married there on June 25th and I just wanted to say if you're stressing about anything, stop right now. Confirm the location that you want, count and food, and the rest will be just fine. I am super high maintenance and when I met with my on site WC Diana, she had everything taken care of I was blown away. We forget they do this twice a day every day! I had DJ Doremixx as well and he was AMAZING. I gave him a list of all the songs i wanted played and it was up to him in what order and what

Pros: Best service! Best accommodations! Fantastic!!!!!
Cons: Communication, badgering to buy timeshare,
This was one of the best resorts i've ever been to. My now-DH and I decided to get married in Cancun when we saw pictures of the Catholic chapel at the Gran Caribe Real and immediately fell in love. We decided to stay at the Royal, and get married at the Gran. Here's our review for the Royal portion of our trip:   Airline: B We purchased our tickets through Orbitz and got a great deal that included the hotel, the flights on United and a rental car. We arrived at the airport, bags, we

Pros: Luxury Resort, Excellent Service, Staff, and Food!
Cons: 1 Bad Waiter at Pelicanos
First, let me say that this place is AMAZING! Whether you are booking a wedding, a honeymoon, or vacation. This resort does not disappoint! All my guests raved about this place and some are seasoned travelers. I had a few that requested I set up a group vacation next year.   Travel Agent (Wendy Hicks - Wright Travel Agency)  A+ I got Wendy's contact information from another Royal Cancun bride. Wendy is very pleasant and informative. I sent her an email to inquire about getting a room b

Pros: resort is absolutely wonderful
Cons: wedding coordination is awful!!!!
I must say...I have mixed feelings about the Royal. Everything that could possibly go wrong with wedding planning did! I stopped planning several times because the wedding coordination was horrible.   They changed wedding coordinators on me 3 times, so 3 times I had to go over all of my options. 2 months before the wedding I get an email saying all of my prices went up to 2011 prices even though I signed my contract in 2010. We had to fight tooth and nail to have the 2010 prices they quote

My husband and I were married May 14, 2011 at The Royal in Cancun.  I am going to sum up an amazing week long adventure at The Royal...first a little background...    My husband and I were at first planning a big New York wedding, when we both realized, we weren't doing it for us, and decided to do something much more our style and head out of town to get hitched.  When we told our families Mexico, they were at first appalled, but of course, supported us in any decision we made.  I have to

Pros: Super friendly staff, gorgeous grounds, amazing food, great drinks, beautiful rooms
Cons: Some unnecessary wedding overcharges and front desk night employee Claudia and Manager Espinoza (horrible manners and customer service skills)
First of all I want to that this website and all the generous ladies who shared their planning, weddings tips and still come back to answer any questions. Wouldn’t done without you guys. I have to say that this Resort really realize all my dreams and just by writing about it make me want to leave everything behind and go back as soon as possible. All my guest have an amazing time, their best vacation and we all already planning to go back for our 1st anniversary (the whole group). I won’t post a

Pros: Exceptional Service, Accomodations, Wedding Sites, Resort, Food, A+++
Cons: Wedding coordinator/planning department appears to be understaffed, Needs to improve communication
I want to begin by saying that we have been to the Royal 4 times in the past and look forward to sharing more memories there. Generally speaking, their service and accommodations are fantastic. Not only will you be happy, but your guests will also be impressed. The reason we actually wanted a destination wedding is because of The Royal. The first time we went there, we had an amazing time, but we knew the real test was going back a second to see if it could be just as spectacular and it was (and

Cons: Horrible Wedding coordinators.
I for one, think that the resort is just amazing, alone it deserves the 5 stars (which is what I gave them despite the horrible Wedding Coordinators service) I didnt feel it to be justice to knock down the resort for the WC's. I would have posted their own review under the wedding Vendors but unfortunately they are not listed as vendors so this will have to do. Okay to Jump right into it....   Wedding-A+++++ Our wedding was so so so much more than we expected it to be. We did hit som
