  3. @@Mrsntobe Thank you so much for sharing this info. I have been back and forth with the idea of real touch or not. Would you mind sharing a photo of your flowers with us?
  4. @@mrswadle I personally didnt do this but a friend of mine who just got married last year did and I helped her organize the invites. What she did was at the same time she sent out STD for the DW to those she wanted to attend that. she also sent out STD for AHR to those that she planned to invite to that. When 6 months came to the AHR she then sent them invites with meal selections etc. So they were always " invited" but just not to the DW. the way we managed the envelopes coming back and who was invited to what was by the color of the return envelopes. The DW RSVP was returned in blue and AHR RSVP was in Green. At the DW she placed invites to AHR to those that attend the DW so they also could attend that if they wished. It all worked out for her. a bit confusing but she was able to manage. I hope that may help..
  5. @@Sheaka I dont think Ill get that break since im trying to see if we can scratch the cocktail hour completely and extend the reception ( i believe that 15 dollars a person) So since im still using it the " time" I dont think ill get that break.
  6. @@BeachBride2016 i received an updated one last night from David. after i thought I completely understood what was going on after my phone call with him. I spoke to a few brides today and we are all confused all over again.. haha... Using Dreams of Love package for example.. It states anyone additional over the 20 in the package is 83 dollars for the silver menu. Then a few cells under that.. it states to upgrade the silver menu to buffet its 27 dollars and that also needs to be added to the 20 people in the package. So we all presumed ok 83 +27 that's buffet price for additional 20 guest on package... But David stated it was 110 for the buffet. and there is a cell completely on its own for Buffet at 110.So we aren't sure if that 110 charge is also includes the same as the 83 charge where it has everything added to it.. cocktail hour, dinner, champagne etc. Or its just buffet. AHHH So we are back to square one of confusion LOL Latest BUDGET PLANNER 2015.xlsx This is the latest one i received.
  7. @@smileitseb thank you for your reply. and A LOT of things have changed in just a minor of months with charges ahhh!! Even the additional charge for people over 20 how gone up to 83 pp. man!! But we're just rolling with whatever comes. Negotiating is never off the table for me!! Thank you again!!
  8. @@desmiv i received the new budget planner last night and it does confirm what Claudia and David both stated the differantce3 must be paid to add up to the 110 for the 20 in the package and everyone else is 110 for buffet. WOW !! I guess we decided to get married in the wrong year. All past brides didn't have to pay the additional amount for the buffet dinner. They just had to pay the original price after the 20 guest and select plated or buffet. We will have to opt out of the buffet and have to select what everyone eats :/ ...
  9. Anyone deciding to go with the Buffet for their wedding? Im receiving conflicting information.... Im being told there is no additional charge for a buffet other than the additional per person over the 20 guests included in the package., and Im also being told its 110 per person for buffet.. can someone clarify this if possible? I know this forum has not been active at all ... but hopefully someone is out there starting their budget planner.
  10. i currently have 56 Adults and 2 children confirmed. I have the dreams of love package and im a bit confused on the menus. Did you have to pay the 110 per person for the buffet? Or did you just have to add the 17 to the additional guest over the 20 of the package? Elisa hasn't been contacting me as quickly.but i presume its because im not a priority right now. Just trying to get some input to organize my budget.

  13. hello past brides.... Anyone had their wedding in the ballroom at DRC and use the ipod dock ? I want to know if the sound is loud enough for an actual ballroom or a DJ is needed for that room. Ive been told no other dj's are allowed other than the dj they offer. Also anyone know if we are allowed to pick two choices on the menus to offer our guest before submitting the number and choice to the WC? the buffet price is increasing due to my guest count going up. Thanx for the help!!!

  18. @@Ao1070 the weddingwire website had been super helpful !! I created a site with all the travel information, resort info etc and filled in the names and plus ones for everyone we sent a Save the date to. The save the dates had the website information and we asked everyone to RSVP through. People have been able to locate their name and RSVP right through the site. It even sends you an alert instantly who has RSVP and if they signed the guestbook. One thing that really helps is if many of your guest are tech savy. The site can be accessed by smart phone, pc and tablet. But if you rather go your own route they have templates on the site you can play around with. I hope that helps.

  22. @@TinkerSofi your trip sounds like such a blast!!! So good you had a great time!!! Way to start off the festivities for Mexico!
  23. @@desmiv I just finished speaking with Marie a different WC and she stated to me...that if the flowers are being held. Or they are tied up and used as centerpieces etc there isnt a problem with " silk flowers" they are just afraid of the lose petals so they dont fly away into the ocean etc. as the contract states. I know ive read of brides bringing their own bouquets since we aren't allowed to bring the flowers back from MX. they have them as keepsakes from their wedding day. So in all i believe she really just wanted to implant this idea of NO OTHER FLOWER OPTION so you would be obligated to go with them for flowers. Stinks for them when we have forums like this where we can speak to one another.
  24. Curious.. Does anyone know if any legal documents need to be shown to the resort(s) to prove you are legally married prior to the symbolic ceremony? I ask this because I have read if you go to a resort in MX for a honeymoon they require your marriage Lic. at check in. I'm just wondering if this would also be the same for a symbolic wedding. We plan to do our legal marriage in the states the weekend before we head out. Would that be cutting it to close since we won't receive the actual certificate until about 30 days after ?
  25. @@desmiv wow!! I'm so sorry to hear about your site visit !!!ugh that truly would make me nervous as well. But im glad that things worked out well with the WC that it made you want to stick with the resort. I have read about the storm that's been passing through there as of late and the crazy amount of seaweed that has been piling up. :/ But nothing we can personally blame the resort for that when mother nature has her own plans. Before i stuck with the resort i first made sure to do my research on their back up rain locations. And I liked the back up ceremony area and also loved the ballroom so that made me feel much better about possible rain day. Im honestly shocked about the flowers. Because Ive some past brides to have used fake flowers at the resort. Did your WC stated no fake rose petals because they can pollute the beach and water? or just fake flowers in general for bouquets and centerpieces?? Im not planning to use fake flowers by i did go back to review all the paperwork that was sent to me for the confirmation /contract.. and there is no statement of fake flowers allowed on resort grounds other than fake rose petals. Do you mind sharing the WC comments on that? I know they want to attempt to avoid losing profit on most things but i don't see how they can state no one can have fake flowers i doubt they will walk around and remove everyone's bouquet or something the day of the wedding lol that would be insane.
