The wedding packages and resort look great. The only thing that concerns me about GS is the beach. Has anyone been there? I read on tripadvisor that the beach is small(ish) and very rocky... Is this true?

Did they send you a copy of the menus? the idea of choosing the free package and upgrading to palapa and private dinner sounds great!

That's what i am doing... Printed a list from tripcentral and will try using it as leverage when trying to negotiate group rates. When are you planning on getting married? If it's during the low season you will have a lot more options...

Congratulations!! How did you manage to book the whole restaurant? I thought you could only have it semi private? Being able to rent a whole restaurant would put Gran Bahia at the top of my list! Wowee this changeover sounds like a big hassle! My fiancee and i were at Akumal last december and loved being able to use amenities in Tulum and Coba as well. Will people staying at Akumal still be able to use Tulum and Coba just not the other way around?

Hi all, I am having a hard time choosing between the 3 resorts listed above... I have read so many reviews and think it's making me more indecisive than actually helping... I have not been to either of the three resorts so that isn't really helping... We are planning on getting married May 17-19 2015 and will be having around 70-80 guests. My fiancee and I visited Gran Bahia Principe last Christmas and loved the resort but their wedding packages aren't looking as good as the the ones at Barcelo, GP, GS! Is anyone else struggling making a decision?

Hi Sophia & everyone, I am also a newbie bride getting married in May 2015. We got engaged on Christmas in Tulum and loved it down there so much we want to get married there! Like Sophia I am also having a hard time figuring out which resort to choose. We stayed at Gran Bahia Principe Akumal in December and loved it! I looked at their wedding packages and am not keen on the idea of having the reception at one of the restaurants while other hotel guests are also there so we have ruled it out.. I have been doing lots of research but there's so many nice resorts it's really hard choosing one (especially if you are indecisive like me, lol) If anyone has any suggestions please do share!

Trying to choose a resort and really like Barcelo and the wedding packages look really good. Has anyone negotiated guest rates with the hotel directly? How many guests do you have if you don't mind me asking? I really like the Mint Breeze package but with 80+ guests everything is really adding up... Don' think we can get it done for under 10,000. Hi Lori, Did you end up asking for any incentives? We will likely have over 60 guests and incentives would def sway which resort we choose...

Hi all, I am planning on getting married May 2015 in the Mayan Riviera. Have narrowed it down to a couple of resorts and have gotten info on their wedding packages. Looking for a TA in Toronto, does anyone have any recommendations? I would try to get it booked with the hotel but at 80+ guests i think i definitely need a TA. Thanks!
