@@tygrrlily Latin Asia was a vendor my wedding coordinator gave me for flowers originally. When I reached out to them about flowers they also sent me their furniture rental brochure. I realized they were cheaper than zuniga and asked if I could use them for my furniture rentals. They said yes since they work with LeBlanc. I'm not sure if they work with all of palace resorts though, I would ask your wedding coordinator. I'm renting gold tiffany chairs for the reception, the chandelier for the sweetheart table and lounge furniture through them. Their flower prices wear crazy expensive that's why I went with Maya. Latin Asia has alot if the same furniture as Zuniga and cheaper their delivery fee is cheaper too.
Are you allowed to use your room credits?

@@calgarybride2015 flying out from home may be what we'll do if we decide not to go with the cost of flights. No, we aren't going to wait, we have a child and that's not feasible for us, especially with the way my vacation works. Our next vacation after the wedding should be a family trip

@@calgarybride2015 so, I actually Google a map to see what countries are close. I am not familiar with the resorts in Belize but Palace is only in mexico and soon to be Jamaica. I was trying to find a thread on here about belize. Although, I know my fiance really wants to go to Jamaica

Even though my wedding isn't until next year, our travel agent secured a great deal for our guests to travel to Puerto Vallarta with us next year. Due to that fact, my invites are being sent out a month after the STD's went out! Every puts down their deposit by end August, and pays by January. yes, we are asking people to commit very early.... but if they choose not to use our TA, and get flights/ accommodations on their own, they are risking a major price increase! We know it is a lot to ask, but such is our reality for our wedding it seems! Without further delay, here are my boarding pass invites! I hope, I hope I give credit to all the right people for this! Thank you @@acw271011 this resort is expensive, but that's why we are planning so far out. People are asking about making their payments already.

We are most likely going to go with DJ discomovil. We are in the Philadelphia area and our family is from NY. We are into 9th hip hop and reggae. What I do know is this part of Mexico is VERY americanized. They listen to what we listen to and I honestly preferred the clubs in mexico than home
-
I'm in the US. We are not interested in honeymooning in mexico since our wedding will be our third time in mexico. So, we want something different. We chose Mexico because we're familiar with the area and Palace had the best group perks. We have considered flying home, doing laundry, and leaving out The next day. We are aiming for the 7 free nights from Palace and don't want them to go to waste. They are opening a Palace resort in Jamaica and I'm assuming we will be able to use free nights there as well.

I will be visiting Playacar palace in a few weeks and I am working on my materials for our site visit. Are they any tips, lessons, questions etc. that you have that I should do, ask, or prepare for?
Thank you

Anyone? I'm not familiar with resorts in Jamaica and I don't know where to start
-
Is anyone honeymooning in another country? We would like to honeymoon in either Jamaica, Aruba, Turks and Caicos, or the Bahamas. Flights from cancun are incredibly expensive, just wondering how you guys are handling this.

I stayed at the Riu palace riviera Maya and I do not like it for weddings. I have considered Riu palace Mexico, but I decided on Playacar Palace. I do not recommended RPRM because there is no privacy during your ceremony. The gazebo is right outside of the entrance for the spa/gym so you will have that traffic, which isn't too bad. BUT this gazebo is also right next to the pool. We saw about 3 ceremonies, which were all back to back but they took place during the pool activities. The pool has a DJ and the music plays loud during the wedding ceremonies. If that would be a problem for you maybe you can have them lower it. I also considered sandos Playacar, but my heart was set on palace resorts for their group incentives. I will say this though, if I got married in punta Cana I would've chose hard rock, and if I got married in any other country, I would've chose Riu. The service at RPRMis amazing, but the reviews about the mold are VERY true, we came home and our stuff smelled like mildew. We also had trouble sleeping due to the sheets feeling damp. I have had friends stay at Riu palace Mexico and have hadno complaints. I recommend you look on trip advisor to see the reviews of the resorts you choose. Yes the wedding resort is important, but you also want to make sure your guest will be satisfied on what they just spent money on. Hope this helps

On second thought. I am not liking the bkush and grey and I believe I am going to go with navy bridesnaid dresses. I did try on a blush dress. I'm not sure if I didn't like the dress as much as I thought I would, but I didn't feel much like a bride. I went to davids bridal to see how I liked the blush. I may have just been annoyed that day because the consultant kept bringing dresses and trying to push the white and ivory... like ummm. No. I have only 1 supporter of the blush dress, so a part of me feels that I'm not going to reveal my dress to anyone until the day of the wedding.

I booked my wedding at Playacar Palace, which has a 4 night minimum. How are you guys able to book one night at the resort for your vendors?
-
I just want to say DJ Discomovil just sent me his prices and I am floored. I love the prices, love how fast he responds. We will be meeting with him in September. Unfortunately the resort has this outrageous $800 vendor fee, but with the vendor fee his packages are still better.
-
Those are my colors, @@Mrsktobe I am trying to find stuff at great prices that I can buy little by little
-
@@tygrrlily thank you. So I've also read somewhere that if the complimentary ceremony package is chosen yiu can't use decor from other packages. I'm disappointed because I thought the credits could also be applied to use on preferred vendors as well.
-
Yeah, we're doing the same. I was really unimpressed with the Palace vendors for the prices. We're going to pay the vendor fee for our photographer/videographer, but we're telling BP that theyre under one company and hoping to pay it just once. We hired the same DJ as you but I'm not sure if we're just going to just pay his vendor fee, or try to book him a room. Our WC said we'd need 3 nights which is more expensive, so I might wait until we get switched to our onsite and deal with it then. Even if we do have to pay the vendor fee, he was still cheaper and included more in his package than the resort djs.
And haha I love your last line - I call it MY wedding all the time haha, then remember I should say we . My FI has no opinion about these things so is just leaving it all to me haha
Who is your dj?
Just for clarification what can the room credits and wedding deposits be used towards if you chose the complimentary ceremony?

I belive moon palace in cancun is great, however I do not like that it is isolated. I love the quaint town feel of playa del carmen. I am excited for moon palace jamaica and maybe we will honeymoon there. It is just so unfortunate that Playacar Palace has a four night minimum
-
Does anyone have a list of preferred vendors and their prices? I go for my site visit in a few weeks and am trying to prepare. Also, has anyone had a ballroom reception? How do you plan to decorate it and what are the costs for some draping and uplighting?

Yea I have been looking. Playacar Palace doesn't seem to be a popular palace resort but we love the area @@acw271011

@@JennyGoll Did your wedding planner send you the Palace Resorts Wedding Collection Guide? It has pricing info for all wedding related stuff. For private functions, if you don't meet the 75 night min for free events, it's $50/pp. I think for a group under a certain size (I want to say it's either 20 or 30), you have the option of having a semi-private reception at a sectioned off part of a restaurant, so that's an option too if your group is small and you don't want to pay all the additional fees. I can send you the guide if you want, but it's from last year, so you might want to ask your wedding planner for an updated one.
I did the sand ceremony also. I brought all my own stuff, vases and sand, and provided our officiant with the script.
Hi,
I never received such a guide and I have been asking them for that information and I have been WAITING for a response. If anyone has it, can they please email it to me bush.chanel@@gmail.com

Hi Ladies,
Are there any resorts in Jamaica that offer great group amenities for large groups? The only reason we chose Palace resorts was for the group perks (unlimited private events, free nights etc). Are there any family friendly resorts with great group perks. I love Riu but I was told they charge you for chair rentals, private events, and per person for a dinner.
