  1. Awesome @@flo628 - Thank you so much!! I love all your pictures and am so happy for you! I am also going to look into your DJ! At first I didnt think I wanted one, because I wanted to cut costs, but now I am wondering how I would get my music for the ceremony and all of that done. UGH! haha, those little things are starting to add up! 8 months and counting for me! SO close, but yet so far!  ;)

@@cassie06 I DID have my dinner at the 12 Tribes Terrace area. That whole area is considered 12Tribes.  You can certainly have the dance floor in the open area, but depending on how many people you have, it might be too large. It was my original plan, but my WC said i had too few guests (48) and it would be hard to get the party started. The center area where we ended up having it was indeed perfect amount of space for the amount of people I had. We instead had ping pong and foozeball and polaroid center out there, and we did have a fire dancer (which was a surprise for me by the hubby :)) with lounge chairs.

You are going to LOVE CD!!!! It's just so lovely there. :) We won't stay anywhere else now when we go to Cabo.

PS- Fire dancer was from Lunas de Fuego and they were a delight. Forgot about them in my review. :)

  2. Gorgeous!!! @@flo628

I can't wait for my wedding there now!! :) I do have a question though, after looking at your pictures, where did you have your dinner? Was it still considered the terrace? Where you have your food set up is where I am wanting us to have dinner as well, and then where the ceremony is at, I want that to be my dance floor. Is that correct?

I think you should also look into Casa Dorada!! It is absolutely gorgeous, and I have only heard and read great things about people having their wedding there! :) I am getting married there next June, and am so excited. The on site WC is awesome and she will help you with everything to where you dont need to have a WC if you didnt want to spend the extra money!

Also - They are very accommodating, and you dont need to stay there if you wanted to stay at a different hotel! :)

  4. Ok, ladies... I just had another freak out.

What are yall doing to cut costs?

The thing that is really getting us is the additional guests... My fiance's family is from Mexico City and a big portion of the family will be attending (about 40 people). From the US, we'll have about 20 guests. This puts our total around 60!!! Yes, SIXTY!

To cut costs, we aren't having a DJ or dance floor, no additional flowers... (my bouquet, his boutonniere, 2 corsages, and 2 boutonnieres are included. I'd prefer bouquets for my MOHs, but again, trying to cut costs....)

    What else can we do???

Here's the thing that makes me sick: The FI reallllly wants bubba jugs..but goodness...60 jugs = $598!!!!! That just seems outrageous!

I keep going back to details about the wedding.. I want to add some color to our wedding... but they charge a ton for ribbons, etc.

Maybe if I go the simple route and just have coral napkins for a "pop" of color??

I know this post is all over the place...but that's how my brain is working right now lol

@@pddcmc I am in the same boat as you. I was hoping only 40, and it is looking more towards 75 right now!!! I AM FREAKING OUT!!!   I am just lucky right now, because everyone is saying they are coming, but no one has even reserved their rooms with my TA, so my FI keeps telling me to stop freaking out until we have a reason to freak out. lol

Can you bring your own decorations to the wedding? If you can there are tons of places you can get cheap CUTE decorations that can add the "pop" of color you want! That is what I am doing. Hobby Lobby, Walmart, Etsy, Target - those are some easy quick cheap places to get really cute things with color

Instead of Bubba Jugs, we are getting tumblers from The Dollar Store. They are good and will cost a lot less than $600. You can get a sticker made on etsy for about $5-10 and printed for cheap at a local shop around you I am sure for about $20-30

We arent doing a DJ either, we have Pandora 1 (for no commercials) and we are also in the process of making a play list on our ipod we can just push shuffle on. The speaker system comes with a mic at the resort, so we will have someone announce us and the wedding party in the beginning and use it for the toasts

Another way we are cutting down is ALCOHOL. It will be CRAZY expensive if we do open bar for the full 5 hours with 75 people, so what we are doing if it comes to that is open for 2 hours and cash bar for the rest. We figured our guests wouldnt mind paying for a little alcohol, seeing as the resort we are staying at (not where I am getting married) is all inclusive, so hopefully they wont mind for those few hours.

I also got a hold of a local florist, didnt tell them I was a bride, asked him for the price of 6 dozen of the flowers I want and 3 bunches of babys breathe and he sent it to me. $237... I am bringing ribbon and such and some of the moms gonig are going to put mine and the girls bouquets together themselves!!

    Hope any of this helped!

When are you wanting to get married and where? Have you gotten that far yet? I would start with Illeana. She was great when I spoke to her, and I have heard amazing things about her. Dont get too overwhelmed with this part! I promise, you have to go with your gut and just choose one you connect with, otherwise you will keep looking and looking!

I am having a "send off" party next year before my wedding! I wanted my guests to feel like they were part of my celebration, not a "oopp I am married now, you werent a part of it, just come to my party!"  :P

We are having it the weekend before we leave and are inviting everyone that isnt invited to Cabo with us and all our people invited to Cabo

We are having a BBQ, beer and dancing kind of thing. I will just be wearing a white dress I am sure, but we want it fun and casual!!

  7. @@Emmalu02 I just booked Gilda Badillo for my June wedding next year! She is very responsive, great prices and her pictures show her work and dedication compare to some others! :)

Also - I am using Wright as a TA for my rooms and such. Kristi is SO awesome! She has already made things so easy. The cool thing is they help you with finding vendors as well if you need it!

  8. @@norris12 Hacienda is absolutely gorgeous!! it was my first choice, however, they are SO expensive now compared to 2014 brides and before. They raised their prices and for 40 people just bare minimum, BEFORE you bring in all outside vendors, it's about $9000+. They don't supply anything (chairs, tables, etc) so you have to rent them all, and that's another added cost.

Mona Lisa - I only got the bare minimum with them, but they were still on the higher scale as well.

I ended up with Casa Dorada. I have about 40 as well and we didn't want to stay at the resort we were getting married at, as we wanted to stay on the marina. They don't require you to stay there and their WC Leoan is awesome!!! She is a huge reason I chose there! :)

  9. @@soulgroovy I have their wedding package stuff they sent to me. If you gove me your email I can send it to you. It would be easy to go just theough them, ans not Earth, Sea and Sky. You have to have 80% of your party stay there and some other things. My friends stayed there last year and loved it. It isn't far from the bars and downtown area. She did say it was a large hill to walk up, but the good was good and they had tons of pools and bars to go to.
