  1. My rings! Just picked them up yesterday!!! We sort of agreed on a DW about a year ago, so he never actually proposed... So I'm getting two rings!!! Since both of them are wedding rings/bands, I'm having the diamond ring on first, and then the simple wedding band! His ring is a simple 5 mm yellow gold band. He never wears jewelry, and the fact that we found a ring that he loves, is short to a miracle!! Oh, and in Norway we have the wedding rings on our right hand Sorry the blurry pictures... Taken with my iPhone as soon as I got them inside my door
  2. From the album: The wedding!

Right hand! That's how we do it in Norway!
  3. Started with the ruffles yesterday, and if you use a rotary cutter, and not a scissor, you actually get a lot less fringes, not to mention that you save A LOT of time... I don't think I'm going to have to seal off the edges at all! Just have make sure I pack them properly!
  4. Hmm... maybe you all disagree, but I think weddings should be a little selfish... It's about you, your husband and your families! We're having an intimate wedding with just the two of us, because we believe that the marriage should be about us, and not what everyone else wants it to be..We're celebrating that we're going to spend the rest of our lives together, that we love each other, and that we're creating a new family together! Everyone else can say exactly what they want. As long as you and your closest family and friends are happy with your decision, screw everyone else (pardon my french)! Go ahead and enjoy your planning, your husband to be, your family and your friends <3 I know that your wedding will be perfect, because it's going to be just the way YOU want it!
  5. Thank you! I've decided to make my own, actually... It is so difficult to find in the colors I want, and also the size (the resort has wide chairs). I'm making ombre ruffles, so my biggest DIY project will ultimately consist of cutting, dying and knotting fabrics x)
  6. You can always use shells or big green leafs, but the fabric and the flowers should be sufficient if the arch isn't to big Less is more! Especially if the fabrics are colored
  7. My husband-to-be (wow, that's still weird to say) will be wearing almost all black despite the heat and tropical feel (he's a really cool type, and would look really weird in flip flops and linen pants). He'll be wearing black shoes with blue socks, superdark tight blue jeans (almost black), a black shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a blue tie, and a black vest. Out wedding colors are different shades of blue, green and ivory His boutonnière is going to be two green orchids with a blue ribbon.
  8. I'm making them with silk chiffon/organza. Using this "tutorial", and then ombre dyeing them! Dark blue on the bottom, and then gradually lighter until it gets ivory http://harlowandthistle.blogspot.no/2012/08/diy-wedding-chair-covers.html
  9. These are the inspirational photos I sent to the real touch-florist! I'm so exited!!!!
  10. Our inspiration: I'm making the ruffle covers, and our colors are different shades of blue and ivory.
  11. I'm bringing ruffled chair covers, napkins, napkin holders, mr. and mrs. signs, and a tablecloth for the bride & groom table. I should be able to fit it all in one bag
  12. Im using this tutorial for my ruffles: http://harlowandthistle.blogspot.no/2012/08/diy-wedding-chair-covers.html Im using silk chiffon, but mine is a bit tricky... I'm ombre dyeing the ruffles, so that they will be royal blue at the bottom, and then gradually lighter and lighter. The top will end in an ivory color, and so will the cover of the chair back. This is my biggest DIY project, but i tink it will be amazing when it is done! Mine will probably be a bit fuller than the ones on the tutorial. I'll be using closer to 20 of the ruffles per chair, and they will be floor length. Tried some out today with some old fabric, and it's a lot of work... I'm getting started as soon as I get the fabric and dye that I ordered!
  13. I'm a July 2014 bride! I can't believe there are no more! Bump bump bump! I'm all ready, only waiting for my dress to arrive!
  14. We're doing engagement photos... They are included in the package, and our photographers and videographer arrive three days prior to the wedding. We are doing a picnic shoot two days before the wedding, and on that same night the photographers and videographer are throwing an engagement party for us (with pro pics!). We are never officially going to be engaged before our wedding, so my FI is going to give me a ring before that shoot - a ring we are going to add a diamond to every year on our wedding date. The shoot is going to be very casual, and we are just going to enjoy ourselves with good food, swimming, and just a relaxing day with our new friends
  15. I've dreamed about Fiji all my life, and neither me nor my FI wanted a big wedding. We didn't really see the point of using lots of money on something we didn't want, so we arranged a trip around the world, and combine the wedding with the honeymoon... We'll be gone for 1,5 months, and it's our perfect vacation/wedding/honeymoon. There will only be the two of us, with two photographers, a videographer (both from New Zealand) and my makeup artist (local from Fiji). We save a lot of money, and the money we do use, is only for the two of us! Gone all out with the best hotels and resorts, and one of the most important thing is the photos and video for our parents and friends (and of course ourselves). This is our day, and we are VERY happy with how we are going to do it Nobody in our family knows about this, so they are getting a huge surprise when we get back to Norway <3
  16. We are having a TTD... Right after the ceremony, actually.... We're eloping, so we don't have all the bridal party and family photos to think about... I've bought two dresses: one for the ceremony and TTD, and one for the intimate beach dinner and party with the locals at night. Getting married in Fiji. The ceremony is going to be in the tropical forest of the beautiful Taveuni island, and the TTD is going to take place at a waterfall and the beach. I love my dress, but I really want the amazing photos..... We have an outside shower at our bungalow, and the staff is going do wash out the salt water, and later, when it dries, they are going to dry clean it for me! We are staying at this resort for 10 days before we move on to another island, so it has plenty of time to dry!

I'm posting photos when we come back! ... That will be in august ^^ We leave Norway in june... Can't wait!!!
  18. We're paying for ours as well, but we are eloping an keeping it a total secret! Only maid of honor and best man knows! Saved us loads of money, and we are doing a trip around the world at the same time as our honeymoon!
  19. I'm crazy in love with the ruffled chair covers... I'm wondering if anyone knows where to buy them? I want them in either ivory, or in a ivory/blue ombre... We only need two! We are having a super intimate wedding dinner with just the two of us, and my inspiration is this pic: I've done some google and eBay searching, but I cannot seem to find them... Any ideas? Or even a DIY tutorial or something? The ones from the pictures are from wildflower linens (http://www.wildflowerlinens.com/) , but I'm only having two, and I was hoping to find some I could buy, not only rent. Preferably not so pricey either!
  20. We are getting married in Fiji, and we are not going to have the ceremony on the beach! We are getting married in the tropical forest, and then have the TTD on the beach. You're not crazy. It's your wedding, and you decide how and where you want it
  21. I had the same problem, until I found my dress! It is a high low gown, so the length can stay the same regardless! I'm planning to wear heels all the way, but I'm bringing a gorgeous pair of sandals in same color as heels (royal blue and silver), just in case my feet ache to much... Here is my dress: Link for those who can not se the dress... http://www.morilee.com/bridals/voyage/6772
  22. I would recommend you to start trying on dresses ASAP if you haven't already. If you are going for a wedding dress, esp. traditional ones, they have a long delivery time! Of course you can buy sample dresses, or even dresses that aren't wedding dresses but beautiful white dresses (if you are going for white). I'm getting married in Fiji, and I'm wearing a destination dress - a light, simple dress. Shoes: I'm wearing heels all the way, but I do recommend flip flops, or barefoot sandals. There are a lot of beautiful ones out there! Just do a quick google search, or browse through Etsy I'm flying in my own hair and makeup stylist... The resort did not have the option, but I would probably bring my own anyway.... We're also flying in two photographers and a videographer from New Zealand, because we are only going to be the two of us, so the memories in the photos and videos are for all of our family members!
