Hello ladies, Well, we got our date set for our wedding next year, but now we need to choose a photographer. Most of the photographers I see that are partnered with Lomas kinda suck I really like Sarani but she is also very expensive... Fellow Azul and El Dorado brides, who did you choose for photography? Did you go with an approved vendor, or bite the bullet and pay an outside vendor fee? Thanks in advance!

@Linds1204 I think I may have watched your wedding reception from our balcony!! Was it on a terrace street side? We saw a big celebration going on below us...that was the night we got engaged and part of the bridal party saw us in the elevator and tried to get us to come party with them lol Sorry not to be a creeper but just saw your date and thought what a small world...

Hey Ladies! So fiance officially proposed while we were in Cancun last week! It was on the roof and my ring is GORGEOUS! So excited!! We also made some decisions on the wedding during a site inspection at EDR. We decided to have the ceremony at Marina Maroma for the beautiful beach, a cocktail reception on a catamaran, and then our reception at the Tucanes bar at EDR. Guests will be staying at EDR, as we both decided that Maromar was WAY too quiet for our bunch of rowdy friends! Plus, I really want my infinity pool Casita! We have been assigned Ana Marie Cruz as our Lomas planner...anyone have experience with her? Thoughts? Waiting to see if March 16th, 2015 can be confirmed and we are set

Yep, El Dorado sure is...Gotta love Karisma's vendor policies I was looking for someone who does airbrush! Thank you

I would like to know the same thing - and if there are any in Playa because of the location of our resort.

Hey ED Ladies! Quick question: I know that ED charges a day pass for those attending the wedding from another hotel, but is there any type of fee if you have the wedding at the marina location? Also, who knows if they have a restriction on how many persons can purchase a day pass and not stay on wedding property? Thanks!

That was the hardest decision for me was EDM versus Secret Maroma...I truly love both resort. But I went to EDM on a work trip about two years ago and fell in love with mangrove trees surrounding it and the marina next door. Also, Secrets was above budget for my friends. But your wedding is going to FANTASTIC! I love Secret's spa it is so special

I too really wanted Xcaret, but after getting a quote from them it was just priced too outragious for me. Over $22,000 for just the reception! Also, Occidental Xcaret would not be my choice for a resort :/ If you are going to do the wedding at Xcaret, I would look into another resort in that area that is a little nicer.

Hey gals! I've been trying to find this info out but can't so if this has been answered I apologize... Does anyone know if El Dorado has a maximum number of persons allowed to attend a wedding that is staying off property? I have a few persons who may not be able to afford this property, but we have decided to go ahead with EDR for the wedding location. I know they charge a day pass fee, but Secrets only allows up to like 10% of your total wedding (which in our case is about 6 persons..) Thanks in advance! I'm so excited We are attending the Bride's Rehearsal for March and plan to make a deposit then for April 2015

u Hey gals, If you haven't already heard, they are currently building a brand new Secrets Playa Mujeres near Cancun, and it is scheduled to be open November of next year (2014). The sample pictures of the website look amazing!! However, when I mentioned this to my fiance he basically said "no way" because the resort was not built yet and he wanted a place more established. Would you consider booking your wedding at a resort that was newly built? Our wedding is supposed to be April 2015 so it would give time to get the kinks worked out. Thoughts? PS: for those interested, here is the link for the new resort: http://www.secretsresorts.com/playa-mujeres-resort-spa

anaMay2014, thank you for your advice. I actually do not want a "church" style wedding and was looking to do a ceremony on the beach with the reception at Xcaret but that doesn't look like it is going to work. I'm now back to my original plan of either Isla Mujeres Palace or Secrets the Vine. I had to rule out Secrets Maroma because of price for my guests

Never mind...I finally got around to checking out everything the wedding planner sent from Xcaret and for JUST RECEPTION it was over $18,000!! On top of the fact we only expect like 50 to 60 guests and that didn't meet the minimum for La Isla (which FYI is the minimum for weekdays...it gets worse for weekends!) So I'm back to square one I have a feeling it is going to end up at Secrets the Vine and I'm going to get yelled at by the two families on fiance's side of the family that insist on bringing kids...

Hello Girls! I am toying with the idea of having our wedding at Xcaret, but I had a few questions I was wondering if you were able to answer... 1) Do they allow outside vendors? Is their a cost? 2) I keep reading there is a "minimum" persons count for La Isla...what is that? 3) Do they offer beachfront locations for wedding? I'm a fan of the church...I want toes in the sand! And any other useful info you may have Thanks!
