  1. I love those kits. It's exactly what I was thinking for my bridesmaids. Since I'm buying their dresses their gifts will be smaller .
  2. Juan's Suit We went to pick up his suit this week. He looks HOT!! haha (of course I would say that right? ) . He would kill me if he sees that I posted this picture here because he doesn't like the picture, but he doesn't have to know right? I'm kinda glad he went with the made to measure suit because it looked so much better than all the other suits he had tried on. The picture really doesn't do it justice. I'm also happy he went with blue, it's just his color, so he'll wear it again and his little face when he tried it on was priceless . We were making jokes about "say yes to the suit" bahaha.
  3. Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear this! I really hope that if he's had it before maybe his body has some antibodies and it won't be as bad this time around so he can feel better sooner. I don't know anything and maybe it doesn't work like that with viruses. I would go to a walk in clinic and get some antiviral. It might be too late but it's worth a try. I find that when taking antivirals it's crucial that you take it as soon as you can. Once the virus takes over the cells there's no much choice but to let it run its course. That's usually how it works with my cold sores at least, I don't know if it's the same with shingles. Have you tried also dabbing some tea tree oil on the rash? It might help with the swelling and pain. That's what I use for cold sores too . It also helps to stop the virus a little and even though I can feel it underneath the cold sore doesn't quite come out. I know they're very different viruses but just some ideas that perhaps could work. I really hope he feels better soon. Sending some positive energy your way. You and me both with the cold sores! haha I always get them when I travel from the sun and also from stress (both checks on the wedding haha). I agree that the antiviral works wonders in terms of stopping the virus and alleviating the symptoms. I'm planning on getting a prescription and start taking them a couple of days before we leave. Also, I swear by the powers of tea tree oil. If you catch it soon enough (at the tingling stage) the cold sore will not come out at all. Even if you have one blister and you put it on it will stop it right there and it won't get bigger at least. You might feel it underneath but no one will be able to see it .
  4. I was totally wondering how you made it! Haha thanks for posting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm totally enjoying the whole wedding planning thing haha. I love it! I wasn't the type of girl that had a pinterest board on weddings before I even got engaged but now I'm enjoying every single minute of it. It might have to do with the fact that we've been engaged for a long time so in a way I've had tons of time to plan. I do sometimes get into the mindset of "I want to get married already and stop planning" but because, again, since we've been engaged forever I just want the day to be here. As much as I enjoy the planning I feel like i've been doing it for ages and it doesn't feel real. I feel like a crazy person planning for her imaginary party that will never come @@beckys98 I'm so sorry to hear about your family. It's understandable that it would be hard to get into the whole wedding thing while going through all that stuff.
  6. If we chose the regular menu everyone else is choosing they'd be charging us too. Maybe ask your coordinator. Sometimes they don't straight up tell you these things Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I find sometimes you surprise yourself. On the moments when I thought not in a million years will I be able to keep it together I didn't cry. I'm hoping it will be the same for the wedding Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I think the tags turned out great! You're right, people won't pay much attention to them anyway Yay!! so close, and the countdown begins!!
  9. I saw some at le chateau this past week. They look nice! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Oh that's so exciting that you're getting into the nitty gritty of things . I totally understand that at this point you just want to be done with the planning and get married once and for all. I'm reaching that point and I still have 4 months left You're totally right. I get so focused on the small details and sometimes I need to think who the hell is going to care, aside from me haha. 11. That's great! I totally wanted the opinion from a mom as to whether this was seen as ok. I agree that paying even half of the price for the buffet is just too much for kids who are so young, two of them don't even really know what's going on haha. I find kids usually like the simple things that they're used to at home. I still have to meet my first kid foodie bahaha. There's not a lot of them which should simplify things . I'll ask them in a couple of months what they would like. Since we're up in the terrace we can't have a la carte menus I better double check if this also applies to the kids menu. OMG, I am so bad, even when I cook and they call for all these strange ingredients I always have to google things haha. Then the problem comes from the fact that I have no clue where to find this at the store . I guess we're all creatures of habit, even though I love food and trying new things I don't know the name of anything. I'm the most clueless person ever.
  12. That's kind of what I was thinking too. I didn't want to choose one thing for all kids. And I flip flop around as to what I want haha so I can't even imagine kids! Thanks for the info! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Excellent! Yeah I thought they had really good stuff in there! I want the ice cream! Haha. I wanted to ask my WC but maybe you have the answer and it will be a lot quicker haha. Do we have to pick one item for all the kids or can each of them pick what they want. Also do we have to pick ahead of time or can it be done at the wedding? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I need your opinion guys, especially from those who have children. Our hotel offers us the choice of having kids dine for free for our wedding by choosing an item from the kid's menu, or pay half of the menu price for them to have access to the buffet. I'm not sure what to do, they're pretty small so I think paying for them to have access to the buffet is an overkill but I also don't want to look cheap haha. Maybe the kid's ages will help, they're 4, 1 and 9 months. I can't seem to be able to attach the menu, but basically I can choose from things like cheese and tomato pizza, Mac and cheese, cheeseburger, hot dog, pasta, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets. and they all come with vegetables, fruit or fries. Then they get dessert like a brownie, cheesecake or ice cream. I know parents will probably share a bite or two from their plate with their kids anyway and who's going to say anything haha, but do you think it would look bad if I chose from the kids menu for them? I really don't know how much kids eat and if they would prefer to eat the stuff on the regular buffet . If I was a kid I'd go with the burger or pizza and fries haha, but that's just me . Thanks in advance!
  15. that's a great idea! I also like the idea of everyone hanging out together at the pool or beach one day. I know some of our guests are making a huge financial effort to come down, which means they won't be able to do many excursions but this way we all get to catch up and it's free (or rather, already paid for haha) The fiance and I wanted to plan a half-day boat trip but when I run it by my friends a lot were scared of getting sick so I don't know what's going to happen with that. I also know Juan should probably plan a day to spend with his mom and sister, whom he hasn't seen in 4 years. I'm excited to see them reunited
  16. @@calgarybride2015 I'm sure that for those who spent the whole week out of the resort they understand that there's not much more you could do. I've been to weddings where the bride and groom just went around and asked us if we were enjoying ourselves but that's it. Maybe we spent a minute with them, and everyone in our table. Then we had a blast on the dancefloor. I didn't see that as bad at all or that they weren't trying hard enough. I also understand that they want to enjoy their wedding instead of stressing out about how much time they spent with guests haha. I'm sure you did fine and guests are happy with how you handled things.
  17. good question! I don't have the answer unfortunately but I was just looking at the map and there are some wi-fi sings around, so maybe it's free in those areas?
  18. I was just talking to a friend over the weekend about this and telling him that I'm already stressing out about spending time with everyone. He said that when he traveled back home to Guatemala he had this long list of people he wanted to see. He said for some he only had about 15 minutes, but he made sure to have a one on one with them and they were super appreciative of it, not matter how long it was. That made me think that maybe we're too hard on ourselves and literally expect the impossible (which is to spend a lot of time with each guest) but people will be happy to get your full attention even if it's for a short period of time. Everyone I've talked to says the same thing, they know it's a very busy week for you and you're trying your best . @@veryvalentine that turned out really well! Good job
  19. I love the sayings that Calgarybride mentioned. It's exactly what I was thinking but when it comes to rhymes in English I'm totally useless haha. Also, if you don't like the writing on the tags, how about printing the text on a clear label and only worrying about the background of the tags? You could put the shell in the background and then stick on the label with the saying on top. Or put the label and then the stars on top. I also like the idea of sticking the hollow starfish on the hole of the tag, so the string will come through it . Another idea, with the drawback being that it might take a lot of ink, is to create a label, a little bit smaller than the tag, then you can design any kind of tag you want on the computer, then print them off and just stick them on the tags. I obviously have too much free time and thought I'd try a few things haha. I attached them here so feel free to use that or change it however you want, or you know, trash them if you think they're horrible haha. The measurements are probably wrong, I was just having some fun and I hope I'm not intruding into your planning. I got all the pictures from this site, the possibilities are endless! So many nice things http://www.freepik.com/ tumbler tags.pptx
  20. thank you for the input! The more I think about it, maybe it's nice to have a moment to yourselves. The day goes by so fast and you're so focused on guests and things running smoothly that it's nice to have a moment to slow down and appreciate each other. I don't think we're going to do a first look either. I agree, while my wedding party didn't have dates it wasn't a big deal but now that some of them do, I feel bad separating them during dinner.
  21. @@pddcmc I had been doing some of those but it's nice to learn new things, like putting your necklaces on a straw haha. Mind blown! I can totally attest to the fact that rolled clothes take up less space. My aunt taught me that when I was a kid . The best part is that you can also place breakable things in between the rolls of clothes. They've always made it each time I tried .
  22. I love the girls' bouquets . I like the first picture of the gazebo and the one with the purple flowers along the aisle! I'm more on the minimal side of decor for the ceremony because the place itself is just so beautiful but I know that's not everyone's style and some like a lot more flowers. Have you tried sending pictures to your resort with other decor ideas and getting quotes? That's what I did at least. Also, does your resort let you work with outside florists? Mine doesn't so it's their way or the highway basically.
