I'm not till mid January so I'm not panicking, but I really just want to get my restaurant picked and secure the poolside reception asap. I also want to get an estimate on flower costs so that if I need to hire outside florist I'm not scrambling at last minute. Doesn't help that I'm so impatient! lol!

Ya, I sent her an email a couple months ago to get the planning ball rolling but never heard from her. I then emailed her again on Friday, so we'll see if I get a response :/

Awesome, thanks Sara!! That gives us a fw ideas on where to tell guests to head to if our pool reception ends early. I know what you mean about paying for the reception though... it seems ridiculous to spend all the money since its an all-inclusive. But I try and think about it like if we were doing the reception here it would cost soooo much more. Ya, i'll probably wait another month or so, maybe into June, and send them an email if I don't hear anything from her. Liz

After a long and trying hunt online for my 2 MOH's dresses, I finally found the dress in a bridal shop in town! Since I'm paying for them and trying to save wherever I can, however, I'll be buying them online. I just love them!!!

ya, that definitely sounds strange. we got our group rate in January too, and deposit of $300/person is due by May 1st to secure pricing and seats. The balance isn't due until 60 or 90 days before departure (can't remember exactly). We are booked with Air Transat. I would be looking for a new TA!

Saturday: arrive at resort Sunday: guest free day, welcome dinner at buffet (handing out OOT bags here) Monday: Guys optional golfing trip/Girls optional shopping & lunch trip into Playa del Carmen Guys & Girls meet up in Play del Carmen for dinner/ party night out (haven't decided where yet) Tuesday: free day for guests (Bride potential spa partial day w/ MOH's) Wednesday: Wedding day (starts at 4pm) Thursday: free day for guests Friday: free day for guests Saturday: departure day for guests (Bride & Groom off to Honeymoon in Merida and then back to the Excellence Riviera Cancun) We decided to only plan one extra day of activities to not put pressure on our guests to do group things their whole trip. Some of our guests have never been on a tropical holiday, and for some its been a long time so we didnt want to tie up a lot of their vacation time.

Since the first night will likely be low key, we are going to put them together the first night we get there and hand them out the following night at dinner with everyone. I think they'll take up too much room if we were to do it ahead of time. If you have everything ready, it shouldn't take too long unless you have an enormous amount of bags... i think we'll have a round 20ish

We're booked with Air Transat... how about you? Since you've been there before, any suggestions on which lounges/bars are the best for lively entertainment after dinner?? We are going to do a poolside reception but will prob want to hit a lounge after. We've had contact with Paloma, she sent us an email confirming our ceremony date and time and said that we should contact our WC 3 mths before our wedding date. But a few people on here have said that the WC usually contacts you right away, and we're still waiting and it's been a couple months. I'm just anxious i guess... haha! Liz

We're getting married in Mexico (Riviera Maya) at the Grand Bahia Principe. Then after the 1st week we are hopping on a bus to Merida for a couple days to take in the Sunday festival. After that we are headed back to the Cancun area and stay at the Excellence Riviera Cancun for the last 4 days before we depart! Our flights are already booked with the wedding trip, so its going to cost us about $1800 for the rest of our honeymoon... Can't wait!!

Maybe it is because she added in the "tiffany chairs, microphone, and music". I think a lot of brides bring their own ipod and dock. Maybe ask her what the price would be for just the open bar and table set up...

So, that means, unfortunately, that we don't have anything decided upon except our date yet... its driving me nuts waiting, lol! We have been to the Riviera Maya, but no, we haven't been to the GBP yet, have you guys?? Liz
