  1. I agree, I think that there is no right or wrong answer to that. Do whatever feels right to you. We are doing our legal ceremony (and by ceremony, I mean just signing the papers) before we leave too, but we are not telling many people and we are not exchanging rings or anything. But as Cherina said, we are doing it that way because we are treating our Mexico ceremony as our anniversary and really our only ceremony.
  2. Our colours are ivory, green, and teal! Just a small touch of teal in the girls dresses and some candles and hanging lanterns. Otherwise everything else will be ivory with some touches of earthy/limey green
  3. I though I had posted my dress on here, but I looked back in my posts and I don;t think I did after all. I had posted it in another thread about shoes So here goes... Mine is Jim Hjelm 8011. I absolutely fell in LOVE with it after seeing it on an episode of Say Yes to the Dress months before FI and I even got engaged, lol! When we did get engaged in November, I emailed Vows Bridal store in Boston, MA to see if they could get it in. About 3 wks later I got an email saying they had it in my size!! I only have 1 pic of it on, as I haven't started alterations yet and its too hard to take pics wearing it, but here it is on the model and hanging...
  4. I have heard the same thing, and i believe it is 4 days for a legal ceremony.... But i could be off base here as I don't have first hand experience myself yet.
  5. You both look amazing in that dress, i love all the lace. And ChocoTaco7568, I LOVE your mantilla veil!!!
  6. These are the bags we are planning on using, but haven't purchased yet. its nice to see a "real" picture of them! Thanks for sharing!
  7. This is such a cute idea, thanks for sharing... Bookmarked for later!
  8. I would also like to know the answer to these questions, if anyone that's been there can explain. Thanks!
  9. Oh wow, I love this dress! It is so romantic. And i agree with Katryne, the back is amazing!
  10. I'm wearing barefoot sandals for the beach ceremony, and then changing into heels for dinner and the reception by the pool
  11. Are you looking for knock-offs or the real thing? Because I bought my dress from Vows Bridal Outlet (they have that show on TLC-I Found The Gown). They only sell the real thing, but at really great discounted prices because they get samples fro other boutiques or straight from the designers. I could never have afforded my dress if it wasn't for them and their customer service is fabulous. They also have a great return policy, if you choose to return the dress, you only lose the shipping. I highly recommend! http://www.bridepower.com/default.aspx
  12. Hi Nicole, congrats on your engagement! What we did to get started is searched on sites like expedia and trip advisor to check out the resorts in the area we wanted. This narrowed it down to about 4 just for places we would like to stay and had the amenities we needed (ie. kids club, nice beach, good reviews on food and service). Then we looked into what all of the 4 resorts offered for wedding packages and the prices based on the approx amount of people we thought would come. This is important because with some resorts if you have a larger # of people, you may have to pay for a private reception (which was not in our budget). So by the time we contacted our travel agent we had already picked our resort. That being said, if you are really confused about the location, a travel agent may be really helpful to you. We are getting married at the Grand Bahia Principe resort and our budget is aprox $12K (includes our travel, extra honeymoon week at another resort, wedding pkg, dinner at a la carte, poolside reception, extra flowers, dress, rings, FI attire, OOT bags, and $1.5K budget for pictures). I hope this helps a bit, good luck planning! Liz
  13. So I bit the bullet and bought the strappy Ivette's (#1) on Saturday... I think i'm just about as excited for my shoes as I was for my dress, lol! I'll be sure to post a pic when they arrive. Thank you ladies for all your help with deciding!
  14. lol sounds good I will definitely let you know!
  15. ya Paloma told us the end of Feb or beginning of March. she said she would email us when they have the packages so we are just waiting impatiently lol
  16. we are still waiting to hear back from the resort to book our date too. we didn't send out STDs, but we just sent our invites out with a random date that we chose right in the middle of the travel week. hopefully the resort will be able to accommodate the date we chose... I dont see why not since they havent booked any 2014 dates yet
  17. I wish they sold them here in Canada, but unfortunately they don't
