  1. Congrats on your cruise wedding! I am also in the process of planning mine! What ship will you be on? Are you using a wedding planner? The two hotels that I have heard good things about are the Doubletree Biscayne Bay and the Intercontinental. Both are more reasonable than hotels on South Beach. Check them out on trip advisor for more information. Good luck and would love to hear how your planning is going!
  2. Thank you so much for sharing! Your wedding was gorgeous and I loved your dress! Congratulations to you!
  3. From everyone that I have heard or had a destination wedding themselves, an on site wedding coordinator is a must!

    New to board

Welcome Tracey! This is definitely the place to be. I personally find the past reviews and planning threads the most valuable especially if you are looking at different locations - past reviews can really help guide you in the right direction of what to do and what not to do. Congrats!
  5. Hi all! How did you all decide what time of year you chose for your cruise wedding. My fiance and I have a good feeling about what ship/location but am struggling on what time of year. I am aware of hurricane season, spring break, etc but wanted to know what determined your date. Thanks!
  6. I am curious on what Sweepea decided on. Did you end up with a cruise wedding??
  7. I love the boarding pass invites! Overall, how much time was spent making these? I am debating between having them done vs. DIY - but want to know how much time I am getting myself into. Thanks for sharing!
  8. I feel the same way. I'm super excited to see what it looks like and hopefully use it soon! Thanks for sharing!
  9. I totally agree. Salad, bread, different types of pasta, sauce, meat/veggie and dessert can make a really good meal for everyone and each person can customize as they go. Good luck!
  10. Thanks! I am so indecisive lately so I might take you up on your offer for more information. Just curious, since you were looking at home rentals - have you decided on a location?
  11. Thank you so much for posting. I just had to say that I think your dress is absolutely gorgous. You look beautiful and it definitely is one of the most gorgeous dresses I have seen. Congrats and wishing you all the best!
  12. Hi Christy, I think you pose a really good question. I have been to the ports that you have mentioned above, however, feel as though they all have a different vibe. I think you really need to ask yourself, what type of wedding are you looking for? I assume you are looking for a beach spot wiht a great backdrop - which they all do. Do you have a spot that really means a lot to you? It sounds like St. Lucia and Aruba would be your top areas? I would suggest to start researching resorts and past weddings in those 2 areas. Start a list of pros and cons which will help sort your ideas. Just my personal opinion, Aruba definitely seems more family friendly with a lot of activities that are geared for all ages. St. Lucia definitely gives me a more adult vibe. Both are absolutely beautiful! Good luck! Wish you all the best!
  13. How did your wedding turn out? Did you post a review? Thanks!
  14. Hi! Loved your article. As a future bride starting to plan a Caribbean wedding, I was just starting to ask myself about timing - so thank you for your article! I haven't seen anything like this - so I hope other brides read your article to make sure they aren't planning in the midst of hurricane season! Thanks again!
  15. This is an awesome idea. I have seen a similar thing where people sign a map and then can frame and hang it as art on a wall. Love these creative ideas!
  16. Hi ladies, I am just about to start planning my future cruise wedding and would love to hear where the current cruise brides are in their planning process! Please share how things are going, what isn't going well, DIY, planning, etc. Thanks!
  17. We chose a destination wedding for a lot of the same reasons as above, in addition to, we don't really consider ourselves 'traditional' wedding people. I think many people dream of having the traditional type wedding - but that did not appeal to my fiance and I. Also, many of our best moments and memories have been while traveling and we want others to share in the destination fun. Also, sometimes more is not merrier - especially with family and friends. I really wanted a more relaxed and carefree environment - rather than worrying about who to cut from the guest list and other drama filled topics. : ) I can't wait to make decisions like which beach, which fruity drink, etc.
  18. Hi all, I wanted to see if anyone has done a home rental in Florida for a wedding/reception. I know in Mexico/Caribbean villa/home rental is common with some great properties on the ocean/beach. Any ideas, pictures, etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  19. OH and by the way.. I mean items that didn't get used.. not sued. Sorry : )
  20. Hi all, Thank you to everyone for posting the items of their out of town bags for everyone to see. They are absolutely wonderful! I honestly would like to know what was best item that everyone loved and then the item that really didn't get used. I am trying to finalize my list of the best of the best items. Thank you!
  21. KLPhoto - Awesome pics. Where are you based out of and do you have a website with more details? Thanks
  22. Ashley- Thank you so much for posting! As you mention, any cruise review is so wonderful and fun to read. I really appreciate you taking the time to post the review. From the pictures, it looks like you had an amazing wedding and it sounds like you totally scored with your photographer. I wonder if I could ever get so lucky with getting such a discounted photo package! Question - did you bring any personalized things for your ceremony/reception? Also, did you plan any events with all of your guests on board to get to know each other? Congratulations on a beautiful wedding!
  23. pinkchucks - Thank you so much for posting this. I personally have a little anxiety about people mixing who all do not know each other. I want everyone to meet each other and get to know each other - so then I don't have to feel as responsible as the social coordinator for the rest of the cruise. What ship are you planning your wedding on?
