We have talked so much about what we're wearing but what about our men?

Have your FI's already picked out their attire?

I had thought about a linen suit, but when my FI tried it on I wasn't impressed with how it looked. So we ended up going with a different suit from Le Chateau and he looks so handsome in it! He's just wearing a vest, tie, and pants. Our groomsmen are wearing matching pants and a white shirt with a brown belt and shoes. We bought their pants and then just asked them to wear their own shirt and shoes. I am also getting them bouts from etsy... white calla lilies with star fish on them!

Looks great!  my FI tried on a linen suit as well and I wasn't crazy about it either.. I guess this is something we have to start getting on for sure.  Thanks for the reminder :)

So I don't know where you'd get them now... but I bet Ardene or Claires might have something not too pricey! You definitely need to get some because they make for some amazing photos! I also have some with a veil that are super nice as well... I have to be honest the "bridal" ones are my least favourite, but they are still beautiful. I guess I just felt sexier in the other photos I did.

Ive looked for them, gotta look harder, ill find them! :) Yes I plan to do some with a veil as well, we will see I want a variety to choose from for the photo book.  I can't wait to do my shoot, but at the same time Im nervous!!

  3. CSHO, I was thinking the same thing the last couple of days.  I've been busy working my two jobs!  I randomly check on my phone, but I can't type anything very well on my phone for this mobile site.  I rather do it on my laptop... How is everything, anything new?  All my bridesmaids dresses are finally ordered :)  And we have 27 booked and counting, deadline is June 14th, time is FLYING!!!!  I need to find time to finish the bouquets, I know I have a lot of time still, but time is going by so fast and I still have a lot of it to do....

  4. Hi there,

    Congrats on your wedding :)

    I am interested in:

30 raffia fans of various sizes - $20

72 LED tea lights in frosted votive holders (all used for less than 4 hours) - $35

    1 large decorative starfish and 1 lot of about 50 1†starfish - $10

    3 starfish picture frames $12

Could I please see pictures? Thanks Kay!

But anyhow I was talking to my friend who is also engaged and getting married. She is totally laid back and would have loved to just have her very close family and friends like 10 people and go to California to get married or something, but her FI really wanted a bigger wedding at home, and how she put it to me was, he wanted that big wedding more then she would rather have a small wedding and she wouldn't regret having a bigger wedding whereas he would regret not having it, so for the sake of keeping everyone happy she is having the bigger wedding. I guess you need to look at it that way. $5000 seems a lot but in the long run of your life its not THAT much and if it will make him happy and not have to look back and regret something then maybe its worth the money?

I think maybe once he really realizes how much work and money its going to cost, maybe he'll think otherwise lol!

I am not legally getting married in Cuba, because we are having the Wedding Mass in the catholic church we are just going to do it here. It will be easier that way.

Yes Csho, that is why we are doing it because I know he wants it so bad, and its our wedding, not just mine.  Hopefully he will just agree to something a little more key, oh well if he doesn't because it really doesnt matter at the end of the day, as long as I get my Cuba wedding!!

I only paid $1000 and bought the sample gown and they still gave me a bag! I'd just go buy one from somewhere else for cheaper, cause you will want one for the plane!

I can't believe you are almost completely finished planning! Thats very exciting and now you can enjoy the summer and just get ready come the fall!

Jolene, they sell garment bags at David's bridal for $10-$20. :)

Sorry about the look on my face! LOL

It fits and everything worked out, I am a little annoyed because the amount of money paid for this dress I expected that it would come in a nice garmet bag it did not they wanted me to buy one, for get it! Also I may get cups added the triangel in the picture is see through and without the cups it doesnt stand out like it should... and I am a little back and forth about getting a bustle, it doesnt have a very long train so I think that maybe it is a waste of money but it will drag a little on the ground so I am not sure yet, I still have time so I will wait and see if I can find someone reasonable priced to do it!

Also all bridesmaid dresses have been ordered, thankgoodness thats over! I can honestly say that except for a few things to be printed and assembled I am pretty much done everything! I think LOL I am going to wait a few weeks and check my list one more time and look over the few things that I passed on and see if I have changed my mind!

JOLENE! So stunning! Its fits so well!  I think the cups would be a good idea considering that centre patch is see through.  From what the picture shows a bustle probably isn't worth the money it is going to cost you to get it done.  Still so happy you found THE ONE :) xo

MY FI is catholic so we are also doing a ceremony here. We had originally planned on doing just a BBQ at our house but then realized that probably about 80-100 people would actually come to that one, as my FI's family all lives around where we live, and many of them won't be coming to Cuba as many of them have children or are too old to travel etc. So anyhow, we realized that would be too many people to fit in our house, so we decided just to do refreshments after the mass service. This will keep the costs way down for us as well. We thought about doing the whole reception thing but really for us it defeated the whole purpose of going down south. So we are just making it clear if people want to come for the party they need to come to Cuba lol, otherwise they are going to just be happy to see the ceremony and have a few snacks afterwards.

Im not having one... Its to much I figure when you have a wedding at home you dont throw another party 3 weeks later for all the people that couldnt make it to the first one! Plus for the most part everyone that we want to be there will be there! Maybe the following year we will do something but we are doing the destination wedding so that we can get away from the costs here and the actual planning part! Lol also like Csho I dont want people to have an reason not to come to Cuba! At first we were going to do a legal ceremony here and my FIs mom said oh well Ill go to that and skip Cuba! Forget it now we are doing everything there and if you want to celebrate with us youll be getting on the plane!

Thank you ladies for your inputs... ahhh I really wish I could talk FI out of the AHR but he really wants it.  I even tried the money card that the $5,000 would be going towards our down payment for our house.  Our wedding is Cuba, and I don't know, he wont budge, I even suggested doing a different food alternative than from a full buffet with meats, veggies, potatoes, salads, etc. But nope.

We shall see when the time comes to start making REAL plans for the AHR.

Are you girls having a legal ceremony in Cuba?  Jolene have you sent your legal documents to Giselle yet, if so... ?

  9. I am starting to plan for my AHR... are any of you ladies doing one?

We have found a community centre with a really nice hall for $100/hour, not bad and than we have to do decorations, linens, food and bar on our own.

I have a friend who is a food and beverage manager and he will be doing the food.  But I don't know if it would be easier to use a banquet hall where everything is included.... I don't want the cost to build and build and build.  I kind of want the AHR but it just seems like a lot of work and extra money I didn't want to spend.  FI for sure wants the AHR  as his grandparents are too old to fly to Cuba....

What are you idea's for your AHR's?

And Jolene I am also super excited to see a photo! I hope you remembered to take one! I know it can be easy to forget when you get wrapped all up in it!

ahaha, note to self when consumption of 3 or more beers has happened - do not post on forum! :)

Kay - That is awesome that you are getting RSVP's back, LOL I didnt get any and we are having 65 people come, I think that they just figured that since they booked I knew that they were coming, I wish though that the people that arent coming would have sent thier's back or did it on the wedsite or something, but oh well it is what it is!!!

Half day of work today and then going to get my dress!!! I will try to remember to take pictures so that you ladies can see!!!

YAY can't wait to see pictures! :)

My mom and bridesmaids really want me to wear a veil so probably just for the ceremony, then i will take it out. I don't mind spending $20 but i totally agree some are way over priced.

I'm still trying to find some royal bright blue chiffon bridesmaid dresses. They are so expensive just cause they are "bridesmaid"

i have found a few really cute ones at stores in the mall but not in the right colour. darn

You should deff. try Victoria Secret, Aritzia, H&M.

    Also could check out kijiji

She asked me if I wanted to do one as well since she knows we are getting married and its cheaper if you have another person. So I agreed to do it... I had thought about doing it, but wasn't planning on it until she came to me with the idea. So now we are booked to do our shoot on June 1st! I am sooo excited to get them done, but nervous to see how they turn out! I am pretty confident in my body so I am not too worried about that, but it definitely will be interesting to see how they turn out! This is going to be sooo hard to keep from him! I think I'll make a photobook afterwards and give it to him the morning of our wedding as a gift! I hope that he will like it!

I am doing a boudoir session next month, I can't wait but at the same time I am a little nervous.  Another thing I AM THE WORST at not just giving a gift right away once I have it.  Hopefully I can wait till the morning of our wedding, Im going to have my MOH deliver it to hubby :)

Regardless, you will probably need to invest in a good one. They are expensive, but if you go into a specialty bra shop, they will set you up right. Or at least they will know where to look.

I have seen some low back ones at chain retail lingerie stores, but I am not sure how low you need.

You can get the "stick on" suction ones from target for $15.... I purchased my first one years ago from la senza, but it was much more...

CSHO you did an amazing job on the hangers, I have been wanting to try one... but was worried it would be too difficult. You've inspired me to try :)

And the dresses are so nice! I love them!

I am  sooooo excited because I randomly typed into google "Coral Bridesmaid dresses for sale" and up popped a kijiji ad for two bridesmaid dresses in a style I loved by Alfred Angelo and the sizes are about 1 size too big for each of my girls but not a big deal at all because we'll just get them altered to fit anyway! I got the two dresses for $150 and they are in the exact colour I was looking for as well!

Here's a picture of the dress!!! Its Alfred angelo style 7138.
