  1. Lianne, Thanks so much! This does help a lot. I downloaded the app that you mentioned and am really hoping to use the iPod and save some money. Especially because I would like some control over the playlist and have already spent a ton of time making one. The boat director acted as the MC... I was wondering if he announced you into the reception and/or announced important moments through out the event, like first dance, etc? What portion of the music did your brother control? Ceremony and everything? Thanks again, Lianne. I really appreciate your help. Lauren Any other iPod brides with input?
  2. @Lianne- You looked beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing your makeup/hair pics....puts my mind at ease seeing what a great job they did! @Scott&Robyn- Great review! So helpful and encouraging! Question for all the ladies... REALLY want to try and eliminate the ,but feel the evening will lack "flow" without someone controlling the event. I've decided a videographer is MUCH more important to us, but that leaves little room in the budget for the DJ. I've read numerous posts and posted myself about this topic on other threads but still can't come to a decision... so I decided to ask my fellow Las Caletas brides. I'm looking for opinions from both ends of the spectrum, but mostly from brides that opted to use an iPOD. Without a DJ who was in charge of announcing important moments? ( I think Blanca said a staff member would, but can't remember). Do you feel like you lacked flow or excitement without a DJ? Even with the addition of the extra hour, after all of the activities (wish lanterns, smores bar, etc), it seems like we will only have about an 1 1/2 of dancing (not including the boat ride). So not sure if $495 an hour is worth it...PLEASE HELP!
  3. Hi Jamie! These are great! Thanks so much for sharing! We've decided to use Sandra from Vallarta Adventures for our videography. So glad we decided to add video.
  4. Thank you! It was definitely the DIY project I was most intimidated by....but with the help of the brides on this forum and the instructions I found online, it was a breeze! It is a hefty DIY project time-wise, but not difficult at all if you are willing to put the time in to do it properly. Good luck!
  5. Haha...I'm embarrassed to admit how many of these I've said!
  6. Thank you! And thank you for posting such useful information--it definitely helped!!
  7. Hi! I'm so glad you loved it! I know exactly what you mean-it makes it so much more real when you see it in person and pictures just don't do it justice! Isn't it tough to leave?! I can't wait to go back! A sea lion ring bearer would be too cool. I wonder if he/she will be trained before November. I mean, a parrot is cool...but a sea lion?! I'm so happy everything worked out with extra space. I know there were so many things I didn't think would be possible, but when I asked Blanca, she was like, "Sure! We can do that!" It definitely puts your mind at ease meeting them and seeing the space. Good luck with all your planning and keep in touch!! Lauren
  8. Hi everyone! I had the painstaking task of ironing the transfers onto my OOT bags today. It took forever, but I didn't sacrifice any bags. I ordered my totes and transfers from cheaptotes.com and the transfers didn't come with instructions...In case this happens to any of you, I wanted to share the link of the great instructions I found online. They worked like a charm and my transfer picture was large and bright. Here is the link : http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/mcgpaper/IOTWF.pdf In case anyone is wondering, I'm from Philadelphia and we are huge Phillies fans, so the Phillie Phanatic drinking a Corona was an obvious choice. If you have any questions, I'm happy to help! Good luck!

  10. Haha, Kate, it seems as if we have all of the same concerns! I wish I had the answer to this for you...and for myself! My major concern is also the flow and energy of the event lacking without the presence of a DJ, but I would LOVE to save the money for something else. If we did hire the DJ, he would probably just be responsible for hitting play on our playlist, haha. This article has some good tips for planning an iPod wedding: https://sites.google.com/site/jasonandkatieteamptarmigan/wedding-music-1 . Also, there is an great app called "my wedding dj" that you can download to make navigating your playlists easier, eliminate time between songs to help flow, and many other useful features. You can read more about it here. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/my-weddingdj/id383243064?mt=8 Good luck!
