  1. Thanks Nikki! I think there are 5 of them coming in at that time, so a private van will work for them. Hopefully if I bump it back to 7pm that will mean they get there in time, or not too terribly late.
  2. We have 17 RSVPs back so far!! A little less than half what we expected, and we asked to have them by Sept 1st. That makes me pretty happy!! Do any of you past brides have a good estimate on the time it takes to get through the airport & customs, and actually get to EDR? Some of our guests aren't getting in until 5pm on Saturday, and right now our welcome dinner is scheduled for 6:30. wondering if I need to bump it back 30 minutes so they can join us. I think they will do a private shuttle vs. shared, if that helps at all.
  3. I love your passport books!!!! and the petal votives are really nice too. I may consider these!!
  4. boys...aren't they funny? I think length is really a matter of preference. I tried on fingertip veils with my dress, and they worked well to show off the layers at the bottom of my dress. If I was not getting married on the beach, I probably would have gone with a finger tip. But I knew I wanted something longer for the breeze/wind photos. I wanted chapel or waltz length, but couldn't find one at a price I was willing to pay. In the end I bought an inexpensive cathedral veil with a beaded edge on eBay. I haven't tried it with my dress, but it's similar enough to the ones I tried on and liked in the stores. The beads really don't add any weight, but I'm sure you could add some larger ones to the very bottom to hold it down.
  5. Thanks for the heads up Lindsey. I think you're right about the whole situation... how's married life treating you?
  6. A couple of thoughts - are you using a bone folder to score and press down the folds? That might help the sleeve stick together a little better. I use a 3M brand adhesive in my tape runner, I find the regular stuff works well (the acid free stuff is good if you're doing photos, but doesn't hold as well as the regular type). I did have issues with the tape runner adhesive not holding when I did some little banners for straws - the tension was too much to get it to hold. I ended up switching to Judikin's Diamond Glaze, which worked like a charm. Glue Dots can work well too for small areas that you need to adhere.
  7. we should start a new thread! except I think mine would be "show me your wedding hoard" lol My fiancé keeps trying to go into my craft room and take boxes out to recycle. him: "hey hon, is that empty box ready to go?" me: "Uhm, it's not empty..." and the ever popular quote from him: "how are we going to get all this stuff to Mexico?!" hehehe
  8. is it me, or is time flying?? I'm close to the 3 month mark now. RSVPs are coming back, and flights are being booked! I'm so excited every time a friend posts that they have airfare, or we get another RSVP in the mail. and we've had our pre-wedding crisis - our AC went out over the weekend and we had to replace the whole freakin system. ouch. I can't tell you how ready I am for Mexico...
  9. you crack me up!!! and yes, congrats on finishing the term! WOOOHOO!!! I need to take a pic of our wedding pile. It's...something...
  10. Oh, I completely agree with you!! We aren't planning a group outing - the welcome dinner and wedding are enough. We (my FI and I) are planning to do a snorkel catamaran trip one day, and maybe a trip to Tulum or Coba another day. I think we'll probably take the shuttle into Playa del Carmen or Cancun one day too. We have provided the links to Lomas' website if anyone else wants to do a tour on their own. I think only a couple of people are staying more than 3 or 4 nights anyway, so most people will hang close to the resort. My mom was talking about doing an excursion with the family the day before or the day after we get married. Since the day before is really the only full day we'll have with everyone at the resort, I'm planning to stay by the pool to see everyone. And the day after...well I sort of doubt we will do much at all. We'll see - I'm worried it'll become a contention point with her (we traveled all this way to spend time with you blah blah blah!).
  11. Hi Nikki - did you guys do organized snorkeling excursions, or just snorkel off of EDR's beaches? If you did organized excursions, who did you use, and which tour did you do? Would you recommend them?
  12. The time will fly by!! that dress is absolutely stunning. the pink would definitely stand out as more unique, but I'm sure the off white will be amazing too.
  13. I bought these stunning heels with the thought that they would be super sexy in pics. I've decided I won't have room to haul them down to Mexico with me, and my loss is your gain!! They have a few scuff marks on the soles from walking inside on laminate flooring (attempting to walk!). They've never been worn for more than a few minutes, and only inside. I will take pics of the soles if this is a concern. They are 4" heels, satin shoe, and currently appear to be retailing for about $200. Buyer pays shipping.
  14. your pro pics are amazing - such a beautiful bride, handsome groom, and looks like a wonderful celebration!!
  15. bubble bath + jacuzzi jets are a bad, bad idea. you will drown in bubbles!! umm, don't ask me how I know. if it's just a jacuzzi soaking tub (no jets), then bubble bath is awesome.
  16. Those are BRILLIANT ideas!!!! I liked the idea of a photobooth, but wasn't sure how to make that happen without distracting my photographer. iPad - DUH. Love your mad lib too, great job!
