  1. You don't mean to say that they serve that cake at the resort on a regular day at a regular old buffet??! Do you guys know if the food served at the resort is different from the food offered for the wedding menu?
  2. Thanks beach bride!! My wedding is in 4 weeks! I have neglecting this Blog... Overwhelmed and busy. I will PM soon.
  3. Where did you find your aloe? I am having a hard time finding small bottles anywhere?
  4. I am a little late on this... could one of you PM me the pic of the new one. I think I may have seen it but not sure and if so I LOVE IT
  5. Thanks for these lovely ideas... especially the crystals. Are these all options or pictures from secrets weddings?
  6. Cassie, it's probably too late to be helpful, but just incase you see this I think it's human nature tO second guess right before the unknown becomes known. Once you view the locations it will all be clear. Your planner will take care of any changes. In my opinion you don't need an additional fan e floor if you have the gazebo. I WISH I could have my reception at the gazebo but there was a missundersanding and now I can't. It will be gorgeous there. Good luck and have fun
  7. Hi Amberh1884 Are you sure all the rooms are booked? Do you mean your room block is all booked? Did you use a travel agent? Maybe she could stay as a triplet in someone's room if she doesn't mind? Good luck Nicc80
  8. How do you know it's mexican night? I am pretty sure it's only hibachi that asks for a reservation... but if it is your reception than you can reserve almost any restaurant
  9. How do you know what goes on at the resort on certain nights? I too thought dinner on the beach would be cool. Kinda torn
  10. Hello all, many unknowns floating through my head as July approaches. I guess that's the tough part of destination weddings. The unknown. So I am now finalizing the beach bonfire. We decided to include dinner on the beach. A tad pricy. It will be open, bar, canapés (apps of some kind) music system rental for iPod, then buffet style dinner. Valeria mentioned something about it being the same as international buffet-whatever that means. I can send pricing if anyone is still curious. Then we will just enjoy what's left of the bonfire. My concern is that I'd much rather have a regular dinner, but it seems impossible to get a reservation/table for 30 at a regular restaurant. Valeria didn't even respond to that question. She just kind of skipped over it and responded to everything else. I had heard that they were not willing to do that anyway. so... I am now wondering Anyone heard anything about this buffet (international buffet)? Is it any good? Is anyone else doing dinner with the bonfire for their entire group?
  11. Hi beachbride, yup that is exactly what I meant. How does it feel to so close??? Thank you! I have since found a few good snippets of info on Facebook.
  12. Hi Nicole, I think the price as quoted is the cost of the next package up. It's not adjusted because you are getting more in those packages and that is how the justify the increase in price. You can always customize the package to fit your needs. Say upgrade you package, but remove something that you don't need or swap it for flowers for example. Ladies, am I right?
  13. KCDawn, you are a pro, are you always this on top of things? I cannot believe I haven't thought of Facebook. I am not always on it (because I am a teacher) so there is a lot I don't know about. I really don't trust the privacy settings and am not a big fan of everyone on my list knowing what I am liking/viewing. Ha ha... I am a pretty private person. I guess this would be the best place to get a sneak peek of some of the fun things to do at secrets. I found the page and there is a tun of info so thanks a bunch!
  14. That's a nice plan LolaTX especially if you are meeting up after dinner:) What is the dessert?
  15. Hello all, just thinking about the resort and activities. I don't really feel the webiste does it justice. Does anyone know where to find the information on what activities are offered at the resort. I heard you can take cooking, dancing lessons etc. Where is that info?
  16. Yay, I am so glad you responded. I know it's going to be pretty. I wish they displayed pics of this area the way they do the gazebo terrace. It really would make me more at ease. I was looking at it on a map after I read your post and i see that it is pretty equidistant to the pool/ocean as the gazebo terrace. I know that I do not want to do the beach. I will want a break after bonfire the night before and cocktail hour on the beach yah know. Did you already post about your rehearsal dinner?
  17. Is anyone having their reception at the barracuda terrace? I finally have the wedding loation file thanks KCDawn I am looking for pictures of what this place looks like dressed up for a wedding. All I can find are those brownish table cloths and uncovered chairs. Thoughts on this location?
  18. Hi Jennyyhwang My reception location has to be changed last minute and I was thinking barracuda terrace. I can no longer view the video, but I was wondering if you could tell me more about it. Did you use the Gazabo as a dance floor? How many guests in your party?
  19. Is there anyway you could PM me or email me these pics. I was just informed that my reception location fell through and am now considering the barracuda or the beach and I cannot view your files. My email is [email protected]
  20. Is anyone going with Juan from the resort for photography? Has anyone seen samples or contacted him yet?
  21. I cannot explain how helpful your response just was. Now I know I want the cocktail hour on the beach. I kept going back and forth and looking at some pictures really helped. Thanks for all that information. Wow, Elizabeth Medina's pictures look amazing. I hope Juan from the resort does a good job too. I am pretty sure I am going with him. Who are you going with? I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to respond. -Nicole
  22. Ladies you have all been so helpful so far, but I need as many opinions on this as possible on this next question. I suddenly feel so unprepared. Wedding is around the corner all of a sudden in July. I am thinking of guest activities... I was thinking welcome sunset cruise, probably the night guests arrive? Saturday, rehearsal dinner/bonfire not sure how that one will be (day before wedding Tuesday) and then fairwell brunch Friday just before we leave? Does this sound like too many group activities for one week? I read in a destinations wedding magazine that you should plan 2 activities, but be careful not to overdo it for the week that some guests might feel overwhelmed. What do you ladies think about these ideas. Feel free to be honest, as if you were a guest... many of our guests plan on being there Saturday-Saturday and the wedding is wednesday.
